    Good Morning,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Unfortunately, my father who was a scootering enthusiast, passed away in 2010, and he left me his scooter. I am now ready to sell it, as i have just started a family of my own and the extra money would be useful. My problem is no one in our family knows anything about scooters, since my Dad passed and as i am looking to sell the scooter, i don't know what would be a fair price to sell it for, to ensure i'm not getting ripped off myself or have too high an expectation as to what to expect people to pay. So with that i defer to your collective knowledge on the subject and hopefully you can help me.
Its a Lambretta SX200 1971ish. About 500 miles on it. It doesn't run, but i'm semi sure it can be repaired. Has a SORN but no MOT since 2008. Not sure what other information you need but i am happy to find the answers out and reply.

Difficult to say without pics/condition etc.
It can range from anything app £1000/£1500 all complete but a non runner to £5k+ for a fully restored scooter.
It would certainly sell better if running. They are fairly basic and the chances are if the tank is drained and filled with fresh petrol(and 2 stroke oil) also carb and points are cleaned it will run.
Are there any Lambretta/Vespa enthusiast type dealers where you are? I'm not talking about the modern shiney showrooms more the back street dealers/workshops where the older scooter enthusiasts congregate??
Take your time and don't rush to sell it. Do a bit of research for a Lambretta scooter dealer near you or ask any one riding the older vespas/lambrettas for info.
Once you get the right info you can decide what to do. It is certainly worth finding out.
Whereabouts are you in general eg nearest big town? I'll have a look online for dealers/clubs locally if you wish?
Buy a copy of Scootering magazine to give you an idea.

Thanks for your help so far, i have attached some pictures if that helps anyone. I am in Darlington and have found a small motorcycle shop that seems to be of the type you suggested, in my town. 20171030_171909.jpg

Well it's in good general condition but it is not standard paint. It also has a non original seat and exhaust. The exhaust would possibly indicate that it has been tuned but it just may be a tuned exhaust.
He was obviously a bit of a mod lol (as was I back in the day lol)
Entirely up to you what you do with it and how much you want for it but I would certainly not ask less than £1000/£1500 (possibly more?).
Take advice as I'm no expert and was more a Vespa fan lol.
Possibly as this forum is more about modern automatic scooters you might be better asking on a Lambretta forum or even the national club site.

I would put it at around 3k.
    Lammys are rare now.
Where abouts are you? I know a lammy guy in Peterborough.

Ah just seen Darlington. I dont know anyone up that way.
Facebook is a good resource, plenty of groups there.
A bike dealership will undercut you.

Not sure about 3k and they are not that rare now as there has been a lot imported from the EU and India over recent years.
Don't forget it's not standard (which fetches more) and we don't know the condition of the engine which may need a complete rebuild?
It will be worth £3-£5k then.
Basically it's worth a lot more than modern stuff lol

It has a later aftermarket outboard front disc brake fitted ? If it has sx in the frame number and on the engine case and 1971 ish then I'd say 3k easily, possibly more !
