Hi guys, thought I'd find someone who can help me out.

Iv got a malaguti 50cc 2stoke. Bought it heading off to mot it and it cuts out wouldn't start again.

Over the last 2 weeks iv replaced the carb, cdi, ht lead, reeds, battery, piston and cylinder. The bike starts but cuts out within seconds. There's a nice flow of petrol from the tank and getting to the plug fine. Got a strong spark but still not running. Any help would be appreciated

Was it running fine with no issues before it cut out? What’s the replacement carb you got for it ? Manuel or electric choke

Its an electric choke. The bloke I got it off said it doesn't like cold whether and cuts out. I know its not the weather as its been sat in the garage. Will upload pic of carb. It does the same with the original carb aswell

When it didn't fire up I thought I'd have a look, it was like it had a layer of cement on it took a hammer and chisel to get it off. There was black oil in the exhaust so replaced all the gaskets

Cement Mmm that’s strange, It’s 2stroke There should be some oil in the exhaust that’s the nature of them, as it’s being burnt, have you checked the manifold for air leaks I know you said you’ve done the reeds.

Yes it confused me. I didn't know that about the oil this is my first 2 stroke. I can't imaging there been any air leaks, all gaskets are in place and bolted correctly. I couldn't feel and air when it runs.

Sounds like its running too rich, maybe the float is sticking?

Did you check to see if it’s over fueling like scuba biker says?

Used the original carb and new carb both same outcome. Don't think the floats are sticking.
