Hi all looking for a bit of help I've got a suzuki ay50 which has a 70cc kit on which was on when I bought it. Had an issue with the expansion tank and it overheated and blew the head gasket so decided to just buy another 70cc top end fitted it yesterday and it started first kick and seemed to run fine but after 5 mins it just cut out. I tried to start it after a minute or so and started rode for 5 mins and it cut out again. When the gasket blew I took the spark plug out and when I kicked it water came out the sparkplug hole so not sure if it has damaged the plug so going to try a new one today but any help on other causes would be great thanks

Suzuki ay50 cuts out after 5 mins
oil Bryan ?
having a 70cc kit installed your standard autolube feeder will not deliver enough oil to lube the new capacity your running at.
symptoms are this :
bike runs fine in low rpm crawling round but once you open the gates of hell and start riding at full wide open , the bike/scoot starts to bog down, it then either stalls out or keeps being very slugish as the pistons expanded so much its starting to semi soft sieze . 9-10 times the bike will stall out and trying to start straight away shows no life. its only after a cool down the bike refires but the problem happens again not many mins after.
what most folks do is start to add oil to the fuel tank or a jerry can. your stock autolube feeds around 20ml pre litre of fuel , but for a 70cc bore kit this is just to little you should be aiming for around 31-32ml per litre. so folks tend to decant 156ml into a bottle and add this to 5 litres of fuel in a jerry can and give it a shake and add to tank.
others will keep a little bottle of oil and when they fill up at station add that to the tank, then fill the tank with gas. running direct to fuel is the way to go but it also means disabling the autolube pump , usually removing it and putting a blanking plate in place.
what is your current oil setup buddy if we know this we can throw hints and advice to get you up and running smooth again.

Now that you have said that it does make sense I replaced the spark plug and did add some oil in the tank and it ran pretty good. It's my sons bike so he filled it up with petrol today and I've just had a txt off his saying it's cutting out again. I'll try some oil in the tank and see what happens. Thanksoil Bryan ?
