gilera runner 50 project - STARTING AGAIN

Well after getting rid of my previous scooter ( aprilia area 51 )
i decided to never touch a scooter ever ever again, but a few days ago i got a phone call asking me if i was interested in a Gilera runner for £50 so i just had to take the offer

its abit scruffy and needs a water pump but it has tax and mot.

plans are to get all the panels off and see if i can repair them with fibreglass ??? not sure on the color i want the bike after the finish, might try and keep to the blue and yellow theme. then get the engine all cleaned up and put a few extras on it

as you can see, obviously some scally has owned this bike somwhere along the lines by the tacky red paint all over the engine, brakes and grab handle, this will all be removed! i like the look of this exhaust pipe so i think i will wire brush it all down and give it a paint jobby

i will keep you all updated.

today I was having a real good look around my runner, found a few panels not fittet correct + screws missing so a few panels flop if you pull them Lol but the thing that made me laff is that the one and only mirror that is living on the bike is from a peugeot :w00t: haha

got a few more pics of it, all the cracks and lose panels ect, I think the bike is going to be left standing till after christmas because I'm taking my crash course test in the next few weeks so will be busy with cars again :bird:

started to sand down the panels ready to paint them all in matt black tomorow.

also put water in it to see if it was just a pipe splitt but when I put water in it came back out of the tranny case WTF? I got my mate to record a video anyway as I put more water in so I can show you what it was like lol.

also decided to keep it for off road use, just get it slightly tuned for wheelies ect ect, lights are staying out and all the front mudguard stuff is staying off, radiator is going to be moved under the seat with a fan.

looks completely fucked tbf lol

get some paint stripper on the engine to get rid of red paint, vht the exhaust, matt black all the panels could look presentable :beer:

looks like my mates old ped it was that colour and totally fucked

more then that actually i reckon

does looked shagged but with a evo panel kit and abit of work it could look a mint

the bike is wirse than in the pictures :rofl: just makes it all the more fun. i normally just clean bikes up and enjoy the ride but because this was is so screwed and needs almost everything new! i might aswell go for the full hit with tuning it unk: just see what i come up with :rofl:

i dno what that pipe is mate, but recon with a good clean up and a chroming that exhaust wud look wicked

Ped looks sweet as, thought I got a bargain getting my runner at £60, but I have to admit it, you've got a better deal =P

Blue and yellow looks sweet mate, keep it like you said, looks like its going to be a really nice bike.

think it might be the water pump mate. someone will be able to tell you.

i hope it is just the pump, the water was coming from behind the variator, going to upload the video now anyway while im waiting for paint :beer:
