it slotted in to tangs that you then had to tighten like the hulk..1954 design.i was young,i didn't care.if i put my feet on the pedals it made it worse.should have welded a washer on but.....COULDN'T BE ARSED...2 speed hand change.tank ,part of the frame .first bike(legal)

The bit you find 2 years later,after an intensive spring clean......
can't remember exactly what it is,but have a burning sense of deja vue',
and only realise what it was,after you've thrown it out or lost again..

Lost the retainer clip & side plate off the chain master link on my KAW 1000..
Luckily I realized something was wrong before the chain came flying off...chain was snatching...stopped to look at it & saw the problem...it was close to disconnecting..pushed it back together
Happy end was able to ride a few miles back home & found the chain was just touching in one area, enough to dislodge the clip. Put on a new master link & sealed the clip with silicone to keep it in place

Bolts, lock washers and exhaust seal from the manifold on the way to work.
Zooming along fine, then BLATTTTTTTTT! BLATTTTTTTTT! BLATTTTTTTTT!

Cheap fix, but pain in the butt reason to tighten everything often.
