Since the current climate has shafted me pretty much rotten i cant afford to run my car every day as it drinks like a fish ect, so thought that i could get a scooter to commute on.
Now the more i look into it the more fun it seems and i think i will end up enjoying it more then just carting me up and down to college and my work, however i have a few questions as iv never riden a motorcyle or anything like that in my life other then my pitbike, well apart from a old dt125 thing that my friend gave me a shot off, witch i fell off due to not going fast enough, much to the amusement of an old guy walking his dog.
Iv decided i would do my cbt and get an aprilia Sr125 as i like the look of them, think i will got for a spares and repair job and fix it, im pretty hand with a spanner ect, but a few questions remain.
Are the 125 engines restricted?, some reviews say it stuggles past 60?, if so can they be deresticted?.
Are you able to tune these engines up a little, i mean keep is at 125cc but up the power a little so it can cruise at a decent speed.
Do they brake down much, i see that after 2003 they come with EFI, is this a good thing or stick to a carb driven model.
What is the fuel consumption like, not specifically the sr125 but 125's in general, dont want to go to the middle of nowhere and run out of fuel.
The reason for all the questions is like on a nice warm day i would like to ride out to loch lomand and the like.
