aprilia sr50 - mission complete

my full engine gasket set still aint arrived :( so the engine cant be built and fitted still :(

while im waiting for parts to come ect ive been sorting panels out, just pulled all the stickers of and started sanding the main front panel ready to be primed, rear panel is going to be getting sanded next aswell :) just having a shit time with the poundland primer, seems to be making alot of mess no matter how much i shake the can and put light layersd on :(

hoping to have the engine fitted and panels painted and fitted by tuesday

you could maybe try warming the poundland primer up by standing the can in hot water for 10 mins before spraying ;)
Burns#4
that bikes looking clean :D wheres the engine though lol?

thanks for the hot water tip ;) il go try now

Dave your a legend! :punk:
MiNoR cOnFuSiOn#5
warm water is the one for cans... makes the paint stickier and thinner.. less paint to cover and it goes on so much nicer
Burns#6
can even feel the difference in the paint, its so smooooooth

You can still install the crank. Use some Hondabond or yamahabond to seal the case halves.

then its a waste of £12

i just hope to god the engine sits in, the 2003 sr i think it is? has the same piaggio engine in, and the brackets are in the same area
Burns#10
kind of annoyed now, got the "full" gasket set........usless!!

3 head gaskets
loads of rubber rings, for?
no crankcase gasket
no inlet gasket

:rtfm:

then i decided to just silicone the crankcase but had trouble fiiting it so wound a few bolts in to pull it on, its all lined and closed but the fucking crank is siezed for some reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well annoyed with it!

gonna finish off on some panels i think :(
DC53#11
Was thinking about doing my SR in this colour whe it's up adrunning, but maybe some blue panels, and some black or yellow.
