This will be my first scooter project I have a 2004 piaggio zip sp that i crashed a couple of weeks ago and have decided to start fixing it. ive decided that it will be for looks, not speed. i was thinking of fiting an aerox front panel as mine is wrecked and i cant find a new one cheap enough, i also want the headlight in the front panel so i can have downhill style handlebars. never seen it done before so should be good  To Do Get bike runing properly again Learn how to fibreglass fit aerox front (unless i find another one i like) repair all cracks and scratches paint :w00t: clean engine start engine modifications :clapping: Done Wrote a to do list  -------------------------------------------------------------- Update 1 15/06/09 Should be geting some forks pretty soon, just sorting payment. as it isn't actualy at my house, when i get the forks on i can then push/tow it home and start work on it. going to strip all the panels off, repair as much as i can. Think i'm going to spray it all black with very slight red tint. white wheels with a red lip and white handle bars. :yahoo: Whats the best way to repair cracks in panels? just filler it then sand it down? Some more pics aswell :yahoo: And for any of you wondering what that is on the trailer... :glare: --------------------------------------------------------------
Ouch any frame damage? Don't do a aerox panel, it's old, everyone has done it, my nan included. Think of something different?
Not that i can see a.t.m. will have a better look when the panlels are off. you got any ideas? :wtf: i want something different but cheep and must have headlight built in. Nead a new helmet aswell :tdwn:
i hope thats not the beggining of an arai logo on the right of the pic urm front pany what about nrg mc2/3 ?
nope, bell helmets. was cheaper then the arai's and higher rated by sharp http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/ would recomend everyone to ride with a decent helmet, £70 will get you a 5* rated helmet. if there was one for sale for £20-£25 i would proberly buy one
That would look good but i think it would take more work. because its liquid cooled and the radiator is in the front i would have to move it elsewere. i could always make my own panel from the original one ive got and try to mold a headlight in

If its a rigid part and you have all the pieces, you're OK using a soldering iron from the back of the crack. Melt it into the joint and then weave it around in circles whilst crossing from one side of the crack to the other....it'll weld the parts together Or if you're not confident yourself, get the local MC shop to do it for you, they usually sharge by length of weld Make sure tou get a price before letting them start work so they dont rip you on price
Stripped the bike right down today, Panels off, engine out. Going to wirebrush the frame down and spray it tomorrow. Going to start ordering engine parts soon aswell. Pics :yahoo: And some quick ideas for the front end Jog front Cpi aragon front
