Zip Rear Brake light not working after being smashed

My bike was stolen last week and after getting it back into shape the rear brake light doesnt seem to work on either front or rear brake. It could be stuck on (the light that is) but i'm not sure as i wouldn't be able to tell if it were on or off?

I'm wondering if where the lights been smashed it's shorted out somewhere? Maybe a fuse or something? My brakes dont make a clicking sound like they do on my motorcycle. Is this normal?

When the weathers better i'll have a look at the brake light sensors on the handlebars too.

Any help would be great.

Turns out it was the connection on the brake lever!
