the weight of a vw day van with ie just basic camping interionear on identical to a porsche 996, i know this as my friend has a 996 porsche and a 997s engined vw van, the reason why the van is faster is the the 997 engine puts out more power , on my van the reason why its faster than a porsche 964 is the gearing is lower and my engine puts out more power than the 964 rs , th the porsche van convertors in germany have clocked 194 mph in there 800bhp vw van with porsche motor, its quicker than a porsche gt3 as can been seen on u tube ,
mines nearly 400 bhp and you would need alot more than 400bhp in a porsche to get a 10 second 1/4 mile time due to the high gearing, most beetles what do 9/10 second quarter mile times have 400bhp plus and run through close ratio gearboxes

ok, you guys have pretty poor car taste. apart from the f body, which is pretty nuts (designed as a drift car, fibreglass body, alloy v8). my dream car would be an old charger or callenger with fibreglass body, tfx alloy block, schumacher head etc, blower, running on the fuel that makes your nose bleed.
maybe stick a big block motor in something stupid like a transit or a black cab.

i would like to make a rod too, like with a proper vintage flathead ford v8 and front mounted blower, that would be cool.

those v8 volvos are pretty cool too, they make something daft like 300hp standard if i recall correct.
i could just shop from jegs and build a car up from parts, that would be my dream car maybe

Stick a g60 jabbasport blower in your golf, then it will be good

i would but im not keeping it, when I eventually pass my test then im getting a astra estate or a Volvo estate because I need to lug 3 mountain bikes about (on a roof rack obvs) 3 big guys and a load of mountain biking gear + food for a weekend because im getting back into downhilling. long time yet, a 3 door golf wont cut it, if I could I would..

sacralidge, grr :) nah i think they run the v8 as its a tad lighter.

i raced against a ford with a viper engine in the other month, needless to say i got trounced :)

they race with the v8 as it was an alloy block specific drag engine instead of the shite ford crap that was originally made for a truck (pro mod run 200+mph)
