Well! i brought this neos of a mate i went to college with for 3 years and he looked after it really well. Then one day he changed the exahust and snapped the manifold, so i took it off him for a decent price, and after owning a 100cc neos and loved it i wanted another neos so i ended up with this : orginal plan was to use it as a winter ride to get to work so i could take my other bike off the road for a few month but never had the time to work on it. Then i manged to get a week off work and manged to get this far: Then not alot happened for a few month. Then i lost my job so had lots of spare time on my hands and got most of this done : Soon as may bank holiday is over going to order standard 50 kit and crack on with the rebuild. My other plans are to buy another engine unit and build a 70 and be able to switch between engine units if ever needed.
Was being a bit stubborn comeing off, so gave it a few taps, no damage done else where luckly! Just fitted my tyres back on today, well half on haha waiting on some short stubby valves comeing.
My old 100cc neos and the neos im building now when my mate had it , old coulors aswell! my old 100 after a polish before its mot
Brought a second hand cylinder , new piston and second hand one today, second hand piston is in good condition, didnt get any rings with the new one, so cleaned the second hand piston up, took the rings off my old piston cleaned them up and going to build a bodge engine out the lot just to get it on the go! Going to concentrate all my money on the 70s kit when i have the time!
Going together nicely, just waiting on some paint, rim tape , and valves arriveing in the post tomorrow! then get the the engine back in the bike and get it set up nice for a mot !
Well got a fair amount of things done this evening , touched one of my wheels up, and stuck the rip tape down, and started to get the belly pan painted! ran out of paint tho
Cheers! rim tape was a bit of a nightmare, coudnt understand how you use the applicator that came with it, so ended up doing it by eye! dont think it looks to bad seeing as it was done by eye and hand . The black panel was silver, so preped it and sprayed black, then started doing it white but ran out of paint! waiting for some more comeing. Need to paint the forlks but not sure weather to go either all black, all white or bottoms white and the rest black
If you mean the one with the upside down gold forks then yeah , its chinese, its a skyjet sj125-23, based on a cbr running a copy honda cg engine, considering its chinese and made out of baked bean tins i havent really had to much bother with it, was used everyday to get to work on so all its had is new front tyre, brake pads front and rear, clutch and throttle cable, new chain and sprokets seeing as the last owner neglected them. its took some abuse!
yeah i have seen it before being sold at a huge walmart style shop haha yeah looks just like the one that honda has made the 125cbr or whatever its called..
Yeah , basicly the same as a cbr on the outside, just the engine really , runs a air cooled engine with push rods instead of honda's ohc water cooled engine. different swing arm to i belive.
Well its up and running, had it on a small test run , seems fine. Got my forks sprayed and a few other bits and bobs a few days ago! but loaded with cold, in this sunny british weather so not been able to do anything. ill add pics later!
After giveing it some thought, ive decided to not bother with getting another engine and building a 70cc unit :/ . But on the plus side the 50 is all up and running and finished ( well apart from a L plate and the number plate sticking on.
