Take the air box off and spray some easy start into the carb mouth and try and start it , if it starts then you no its got compression and a spark , then you no its down to a fueling issue .
So today i thought to my self when i replaced the gaskets i never put 2T oil so i took it out and polished the cylinder and put all back and now i have much more compression on the engine, now when i put my finger on the spark plug whole and kick start or electric start my finger pops out of the whole. So what i done was sucking on the vacuum line for the petrol to flow because it wouldn't when i kicked start, some petrol flowed to the fuel filter but then the petrol never gone anywhere and i kicked start for couple minutes and still electric and nothing, checked my spark plug and i get blue light. ( i have checked the carburetor and fitted all back ) Any suggestion?
Put a new spark plug in , and if you are having to suck on the vaccume to get fuel flowing it sounds like the diaphragm in the vaccume tap is either stuck or broke id just by a new one you can pick up a universal one that fits most scooters for about a tenner , PS take the air box off or open filter which ever you may have and spray some easy start down the carb then attempt to stat it if it fires up then you have spark and compression so it would be down to a fueling problem
So today i brought Easy Start from halffords only £4.49 and i removed the air filter and holded the spray for 2seconds and turned the key and kicked start and no luck, so my next step soon is to get a new vaccume tap and i will update soon!
u need to open the throttle then spray it for about 3 seconds so it goes down the manifold , then try and start it , kick start would be best
Done what you said, even seen the niddle going up when full throttle and done for 3seconds and still nothing with kickstart so guessing its fuel problem.
No it would start with easy start if it was a fuel problem then cut out so its either a compression or sparking issue , just because a spark is blue does not mean its a strong spark have you changed the spark plug ?
Its new not so long ago I got this spark plug. I have ordered a Fuel Pump anyway from eBay should be here by Monday I would say. Soon I will get new spark and Piston and see.
Well i don't know how long the piston has been on my moped because i got this moped couple months ago and of course the guy had the moped and it was working good when came to my hands and few months down the line i was riding the moped going around 40mph and the moped turned off on its own and i tried kickstart and nothing. not even electric. I have seen the piston and i dont see deep scratches or anything.
Yh probably the piston rings because if it was a carb problem it would off spluttered before it cut out on you
So suggestion on getting the piston? If so i am getting this one very soon http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TGB-302-5...66?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2324988f96
i would mate and for £15 you can't go wrong , just make sure you fit it correct , wish you lived local to me i would have a good tinker with it for you
Yeah mate, i have added you on msn also where abouts u live? ( To make sure, The piston has arrow and that points to the bottom of the engine and not up pointing up? ) 61.6 mi, 1 hour 7 mins In current traffic: 1 hour 42 mins Far from me
Oh tar mate i will accept it in a min , i live in stoke-on-trent staffordshire , yes mate arrow points towards the bottom and make sure the rings are in the notches on the piston when you compress them to slide the bore onto it and make sure the bore has abit of 2 stroke for lube
Yes i have done the lube and i noticed more compression i got. also the notches are all sorted. but yh i will get a new one soon i will update with pics of piston soon
