is it revving? new pipes almost always need lighter rollers as its a shorter powerband at higher revs. if your bike revs about the same as befor itl be heavy rollers... 70's are seriously touchy about roller weight/jetting and it will misbehave when wrong. as for the clutch wd40 would make it slip for a couple mins befor its burnt off...

Thats what i thought.
but i never de-restricted it & same revs
also the kickstart can be kicked with the engine turnt on
never had one so cant be sure its got the restrictor there/... that or its a sleve that looks like part of the pipe itself.. some pipes the can itself is a restriction (baffel tube far too small) anyone on here actually got a laser pro?
ether way it should rev a little higher with a new pipe so ajust rollers/jet accordingly.
idle mix will need a tweak but wont be far off..
reeds in my book, only way oil is getting in the filter is dribbeling down from the tank (unlikely) or compression escaping the reedblock back through the carb spitting loads of fuel into the filter. the fuel obviously evaporates and leaves an oily residue.
so its a stock bike, wich had a new carb wich was rejetted for 27 quid.. me thinks they found the loose jet, wound it back in and got an hours wotrk out of you bruv.

Well, atleast im on the road again.
It would of cost more... lucky i was under warrenty =/
ye m8 thas the main point, snydy work or not they did the job for 30 quid so cant complain. just wish dealers woukldent invent problems. take a pic of the carb if you can just for my own peice of mind, if its a warenty job 1 it should be free and 2 new parts MUST be used so we will all see if its a new carb for ya
