Thanks. I thought it might be something like that. 4th d the depth of shine. There are some places near me that do vehicle wrap. I just have to call them tomorrow to get a quote.

I dont think I would go for dip. you have to completely strip the scoot and then put it back together again. I would forget which screw / nut goes where and probably end up with a vespa pile on ebay as a none runner. lol. I used to be a car mechanic but my memory is getting worse and dont think I could do a lot now mechanically. i can change and replace things, like belts, rollers, wheels lights etc. I can put a screwdriver down in front of me and forget where I put it and cant find it. lol. Dont know what I would do with a vespa in a box. lol.

Been quoted £450 + vat to wrap it. Will be cheaper with plastikote rattle cans. lol.

its not a piss take, they have to make money, theyre a business not a charity. don't like it? don't use their services. £50 a hour for my mechanical services good sir.
spray can jobs can look perfectly fine, just take time, prep is key.
take your time and itll look good.
saw one of these in a metallic dark blue today, looked absolutely mint.
got me wanting a bloody vespa now and I hate vespas and lambrettas with a passion ;)

Another quote was £350 + vat. Both said it depends on the curves of the scooter and how hard it would be. The second place I phoned said it also depends on the lightness of the wrap as heating it up and stretching it over excessive curves could make the colour lighter and the wrap thinner showing any blemishes under it.
If I take my time with plastikote super gloss black, I should get a good shine and finish. I have used it before on models, but not on a whole scoot or bike. I did do the spokes on a honda cb100 sport alloy wheels and it turned out well. I recon about 4 cans should do. The front panel and the spark plug panel can be wrapped. Would not cost much for a sheet on ebay for them bits. Perhaps the handlebar cover / casing (not around the headlight) might get covered too. Should be easy to do. I have used fablon many years ago. Cant be much harder.

Edd China on Wheeler Dealers had a VW van wrapped and it cost £900. I would not think a scoot would be a 3rd or nearly half of that. There cant be much wrap used.

It might be time to change the 'hate' to 'love' :p
Still only two wheels with a motor and a seat stuck on a frame. ;)

again depends on the curves etc, just because its smaller doesn't mean it wont take more time.
A van is a lot different, theres not as much pissing about involved in application theyre pretty much straight lines and curves that are on it aren't that bad. Though saying that when I had the towing business it cost me £1500 per truck just to have the cabs wrapped

its the older ones I don't like mainly, I tried them, didn't like them and most of the people that ride the old ones are a bunch of stuck up little sh1ts o_O until I try the new ones ill reserve judgement but wont see me on one for quite some time yet :D

Agreed. Edd China had the LT28 done. They are the squarest of vans with only the windscreen sloping. There are no real curves on it really. My et2 is curvy.

I think I would like the LX, but I am more than happy with mine. It is comfy and like most (if not all) scoots with 10" wheels, it can be a bit wobbly when moving slowly.

I have seen plastidip on youtube and the thicker it is put on, the easier it can be peeled off. I used to think plastikote was the same stuff, but it isnt. Plastikote has a great shine on it and is tough paint.
