Variator troubles

    hi my gilera runner sp172 broke down when I took side caseing off I noticed the front pulley had rounded off also I found it hard removing the old variator I have bought a replacement front pulley but I want to upgrade my variator will a standard 180 variator fit and would it increase performance or will I have to bight the bullet and spend more on a mollosi or polini

    Right, the question is:
    Why has the fixed pulley stripped the splines?
    Answer : One of three reasons. Either the crank splines are worn in that area or the nut has come loose enough to allow it to move or you dont have a shim to correct the spacing in the variator.

    Yes your standard 180 variator will fit, the engines share the same crank.

    unfortunatle let a friend change the rollers and im pretty sure he didn't put the washers back in the right order cheers steve im gonna buy all new washers spacers done some research gonna fit it all myself (Not be a lazy bastard im bites you in the ass in the end)
