    Right, today...

cleaned out the carb, changed inlet rubber as old one was cracked, swapped seat unit so it locks down, took the back wheel off and wire wheeled the rim edges to seal the tyre and solve the flatty problem, then fitted a spare exhaust I had laying around. Kicked her over and she fired second kick and runs fine, with no piston slap, big-end knocking or rattling mains, not bad for a 10k mile motor!

So it now wheelies, spins up and powerslides on the yard, but popped the fork seals though due to their age so they need doing (as planned anyway) when the forks get overhauled.

OK small update, my bike don't like being started on foggy days so I'll start it on a dry sunny day and leave it running... :w00t:

Just some outlined ideas I currently have for the project:

-172 kit (bored out to ???cc and piston matched)

    -Extensive porting and timing alteration

-Watercooled motor with custom twin radiator system

    -Malossi crank, variator, kevlar belt

    -Top Racing Gear-Up Kit

    -C4 Mains and seals

    -Various carbon reed petals

    -Renthals conversion (but Swedish)

-Front wavy disc (oversized with caliper modification)

-Rear disc (runner wheel for now :eh: )

    -Polished wheels

-Paint is all decided but looking for the paint at the moment to put in the spray airgun

only way you can rebore a 172 kit is to use a polini item rather than the nicosil lined malossi item. also as its an iron lining you can use a drop forged piston rather than the weak cast piston you have to use with a nicosil plated barrel. you only need to advance the timing by 1 or 2 degrees max to get the best powerband with a ported barrel (unless your handy with a tig welder as the ports wont allow the kind of work that require drastic timing changes) also c4 mains are NEVER needed in a 125 engine as the stock items run up to 40bhp quite hapily and last longer (psn dont even use c4's)

ta for the info Minor, I'll keep that in mind, notice how I didn't mention what barrell I was going to alter :D

As for the level of tuning yes I want to get it as good as those Euro guys and reliability will be completely thrown out of the window!

euro's build 40+bhp 172's m8 :D if you really wanna go silly get a fabrizi kit and crank, needs work but its like an mhr 70 port on a 210 barrel... mmmmm LOVELY or mabey consider using an adaptor plate and slamming a powervalve barrel on there, can easily fit an nsr 154/191 kit with a simple plate, problem is wiring up the ignition as the powervalve obviously needs a servo and controler..

now thas sommin im sure has your brain ticking away ;)

Be warned they are supost to have crap build quality and bad performance gains.

I personally think they look crap on a bike.
