Before anyone mentions I have a problem with my valve or a puncture, both have been ruled out. My front tire will go from 20psi to 9psi in less than a week. My rear tire seems to lose pressure much slower and I get about 3 weeks before it needs a little boost 3-4psi to bring it back to normal. Question is, why could my tire be losing pressure this fast?

My rear tire was replaced last year so could it be that the front tire (08 year of registration) has become porous and needs replacing? I don't think it should need pumping up every week with that huge drop in pressure. I store it underground in a lock up room. The place is never 'cold' as in super chilly so don't think that has anything to do with it. Any ideas?

Yes always check rims as they can get a build up of tyre crud that stops a seal. You could also add a small amount of tyre sealant. It reacts with air and is forced into the leaks you could be experiencing into the bead as you ride.

Was thinking more along the lines,of imperfection's,that could be exposed.due to certain conditions.;).

The bead rims will either be damaged, or the paint will have lifted, due to the alloy having corroded. Either way, it needs repairing.

as merlin said... bead rim will be damaged most likely.
get it all the time with car tyres.. will need to be repaired.

Spent a lot of my time checking tread on V/C's tyres, cause of the murderous roads I used.:(. -
apart from picking out the usual embedded cr.p,mainly glass...i noticed that there were a fair few cuts on tyres/even though no noticeable debris, got to thinking/that sometimes particles may have been 'absorbed' by rubber & actual item may not be visible -
    I'd suggest,if you have 'cuts',noticeable on your tyres....not closed up,there may be deeply embedded sh..e in them,replace them,immediately.for piece of mind.mk.

Thank you all for the info. Would a decent mechanic be able to identify and resolve my issue or would a specialist be needed? Tire pressure dropping more than 8-9 psi does signal something is wrong yeah? I am assuming that much.

Should be able to see any serious damage yourself if tires off otherwise a decent mechanic should know
