Top speed on a r6 in 1st gear

if it goes that fast in 1st gear u wont ever have to change gear !!

day to day life u aint doin no more then about 70-80mph

 

doesnt work like that, you dont cruise round at 15,000rpm, while it will hit that speed in first, you wont want to sit at those revs, flick into second same speed less revs

as for R6 doing 105 in first PMSL. R1 won't do that!

The OW01 was one of the highest geared bikes of its time and used in anger for racing with the right gearing....would pull 90 in first

My thou is a five speed box and will pull 70 in first if thrashed to the red line. The R1 and R6 are both 6 speed, given more modern R1 will only pull about the same. Had a go on my mates R1 just after he got it and it hit the red line at 147 in 5th with another gear left to go

My EXUP as follows
1st=70
2nd=105
3rd=125
4th=145
and top out in 5th at 172

Not that I condone such recklessness

and superbike insurance aint all that bad if you choose the right bike....
modern stuff will rip my arm off at £600...the EXUP is more friendly at £92 (TPFT for the year)

No one said an R6 does, and an R1/ZX10 will just about do it.

Nice bike you have by the way, love those things, old school :drool: its the twin headlights and square-ish tail that do it for me, I almost bought the 600 version but ended up with a CBR6 instead.

true true. but old bikes aint on the same playing feild as new bikes handeling,breaking wise etc
