sr20? boo! they sound wank no way is one going under my bonnet...

ca's are just as good, sound better and are lighter, when it does eventually go it'll be rebuilt forged so the sr will seem pointless..

rb30 dont just bolt in lol, and its a single turbo, RB30DET, think the DETT was from yankland. Aswell as being a rare/expensive engine to buy, uneconomical etc etc haha.

ca18 is perfect for what i need, revvy, responsive and absolutely no lag.

forged ca will be happy to sit around 350 horse no worries, reasonably cheaply aswell, why would i want more in a road car? at 19 aswell..

rb30 crate engine? belive i see 2 turbo's.....and yes, your probably right about the not bolting in thing... im thinking s15.... but hey, gearbox from a s15 will go in, then bung the 26/30 engine in on custom mounts? wont take a fabricator 2 hours to make the mounts for you once you clock/level the engine.

    no replacment for displacment...

gotta remember, these are jap cars.. put into LOTS of jap cars you cant buy over here/wpould have probably never heard of.. wax is putting an rb30 engine into his 280z... and from what he said it wasent hard to track down a twin turbo rb30 in aus (close to japan obv) get on the aussie sites.. the jap scene is big there and english speaking :)

lol thats a osgiken built motor though mate, RB30 was never turbo'd, came N/A but people stuck rb25 (single turbo) or rb26(twin turbo) heads on.

s15 uses the same engine and box as an s14, sr20det motor, gearbox wouldn't bolt to an rb30, would be after something more like an rb25 box, with an auto gearbox mount it would bolt up, then get a prop sleeved, mounts fabricated, then theres the massive change in weight distribution, the fact the rb30 is a tall motor and so would need bonnet mods, its a much bigger job than whacking it in and starting her up haha.

no replacement for displacement is such a german thing to say haha, otherwise most of the people in BDC/D1 would be running rb30's with stroker kits!

either way im not rb30ing this haha, as a 19year old i doubt my pocket could take the running costs, this is my daily!

ang on then... i thought the s15 used the rb26 engine from the liner ether way?

certianly done your homework thats for sure... i must be getting confused between the 26/30 as ive just found pics of a few cars they came out of originally... PLENTY of turbo rb engines nockin about tho and i cant see ALL oif them being home built conversions... if you know better then ill agree.. but i found opne picture of an aspirated rb30 and thousands of single/twin turbo 30's...

but ye, still stick to a factory rb26 liner (seing as how i can insure one for less than mopst of you pay for a fiesta LOLOLOL) get some more work done/pics up al;ready :)

haha dont worry mate, works being done but not the sort i want to post on a public forum :p

insurance companies are getting wise now, chat on msn or something and ill give you the lowdown...

yeah s15s have sr20s in them, rb26's are like 3k for the engine and they only came in gtr's so theyre pretty hard to find cheap and not ragged, mates doing a 25 into an s13 which is nice, be good for 250 straight off the mark which is nice.

nah pretty sure all rb30's in the uk are home builds, people just buy the blocks and stick a 26 head on, stupid low end torque with the 3litres so can push the arse out at about 3k revs and leave yourself 6k to play with!

liner gtr's are fucking nice though man, definately get one, theyre expensive but the sound of a 26 is rediculous, some guy posted a thread of his HKS stroker rb28 and its MENTAL, something stupid like 700 horse with hardly any lag and good boost right til redline, incredible build ill try and find it.

as you know mate i've been into tuner cars for years so homework isn't even the word, with your help I had the confidence to buy one knowing i could insure it!

nah see im not talking domestic... jap cars are not english.. so obviously no 30's wiht turbo's in the country.. im lloooking globally. like aus/japan/yanklands to a point...

the engines are hard to come by as NO skyline (other than the gtr post r33) were ever sold in england.. 99% of them are imports, even the r34 was fairly lapse in england (the first properly avalable car in england) same wiht the sylvias/200's.. there NOT a british released car, there grey imports. hence fuck all bits about. wont be buying anything vfron england for mine when i eventually grab one. all japan/aus...

like i said, all the pics ive found of 30's are wiht a turbo or two... so there must be somthing in aus/jap[an thats made wiht one, dont see EVERY pic ive found being nocked up, new low comp pistons/head work/turbo inlets blah blah... must be a factory turbo car out there wiht a 30 for there to be SO many engines nocking about there... see what im sayin?

bottom line, there not english, were never intended to be here in the first place and will never really be in the british market.. yes nissan have started releasing more over here like the r34+/newer 200/280z and so on (can you actually buy a brittish cube yet?) so all the newer stuff is readiuly avalabnle wiht parts backup. unlike the older ones..

chances are your car came from japan/aus as an import in the first place. there were NEVER any r32's sold in england, same for the 33 i THINK
