My first album that I bought was Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time. That was quickly followed by Deep Purple in Rock, AC/DC's Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Status Quo's Rocking All Over the World. I guess that pegs me at around 1977-ish for my first LP records.
Do you remember the song "Mississippi Queen" by Mountain??? went to a concert..had 3 bands...don't recall all of them but Leslie West was a big fat guy who really rocked on the guitar...he played by himself for a long time that night...always remember that...in the 70s had to be the best for hard rock
I went to the Monsters of Rock concerts at Castle Donington back in those days. It's now called Download (I think). Going to see Quo, Hawkwind, Judas Priest and loads of other rock bands at the Manchester Apollo back then too. AC/DC - Hell's Bells Tour Queen - A Kind of Magic at Maine Road, 1983 - with Quo as support band Quo - Rocking All Over the World Tour Judas Priest - British Steel Tour Those were the days, I can bloody tell you... Break The Rules was my first single that I bought, by Status Quo on the Philips label, long before they signed to Vertigo Records.
Getting back from a stoner's walkabout tour,of a selection of Sth London pubs end of tge 80's- an blasting out 'matchstick men ' at 1 a.m. in the morning........... .(wistful)
I went to a lot of concerts at the "OMNI" in Atlanta,Ga...it was a basketball/hockey theatre/arena & totally enclosed. Once the lights went down at a concert..everyone lit up & not a problem...people would hold up their lighters and you could see thousands of flickering flames.. My nephew & I went to see David Bowie..must have been around '75...we were in the 8th row from the stage right in front of them...massive speakers must have been 10-12 feet high in front of us.. The place went totally dark and a movie came on..looked like a silent film from the 30s..a lot of bizarre stuff...ants crawling out of a person's hand..etc. The screen went up and the band was there and began to play! IT WAS AWESOME!! Bowie had a big band..lots of backup..HE WAS FANTASTIC!! I came away with a lot of respect for him...also deaf for a while
I love golden vagina. Can't smoke anything else. Shouldn't bloody smoke at all but you can't be good all the time.
Try some Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild instead, Easy Rider style. Or maybe Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell, or even Deep Purple's Speed King.
how comes we date age by our music..... i like all sorts... but my first album though to be honest i have a boneym single somewhere
