carb wise I would get a 20.5mm dell. only around £20 on ebay thats what ive done, no upjet, runs fine but gonna tweak it after run in i had to mod the inlet manifold but its easy enuff, basically drop it in boiling water, ram something the same diameter as the carb into it, let it cool down and bobs ya uncle
yeah will fit on standard manifold. but will need an auto choke but not too expensive and i trust it more tbh got all feed nipples aswell.
This is what the carb looks like at the moment. Full of sand :msn1: This was the engine just about to slide into the back of the bike Rear view Side view
Actually it's Gonorrhea. I'm just an old school kind of guy! :w00t: I'll try this carb cleaned up with a bigger jet in it before getting a bigger one. The bike has no airbox, so I'll be buying a K&N water funnel as well.
Had a bit of a doodle tonight. This is what I was going to do paintwise... This is what my daughter suggested, which isn't bad actually. It's meant to be turquoise. This is what she wanted for herself And this is what will probably actually happen... :w00t:
I thought the paintwork already on the bike looked in good condition!! or is it a case of camera flattery...
RH side panels were fucked by someone falling off it. Got replacements off ebay but they were red where the bike was black. Might just go for high gloss black and take all the stickers off, Japanese drug runner stylee... :w00t:
Started taking the panels off today, partly to desticker them and partly because I was looking for the battery, as it wasn't in the battery compartment. I couldn't even see any wires for it. I took every panel off the bike and finally thought that the footplate had been hurriedly refitted by the previous owner, trapping the wires underneath somewhere. Started to remove the footplate, finding it a bit heavier than I expected for a piece of plastic. That's when I discovered the REAL battery ompartment, under a lid in the footplate compartment. Oh well, I wanted the panels off anyway but I did feel a cunt! :w00t:
That battery was fucked, so I went and got another. On inspection of the carb, it WAS totally fucked up, it looked like it had been in the rain for a LONG time, all the jets and alloy were corroded, and the needle was bent so bad that it was almost impossible to get the slide out of the carb. For now, I've got a cheapie standard one off ebay (which I'll upjet), because I'm keen to get the bike running. I saw the 20mm Dellorto for £20 but it needs an electric choke and I don't know how to wire that in so I'll keep it simple for now.
yeah best to get it running before the tuning  how old your daughter ? she not wanting a scoot yet ?
The oldest one who lives with me is 12. Not long now....Shes already driven the sidecar outfit and the SYM city hopper I used to have. The youngest one is 6. She couldn't give a monkey's about scooters. I blame her mother! :w00t:
OK, impatience got the better of me. Ordered a 21mm Malossi carb from Delirium. The bloke there said that they run better on Aeroxs witha stock airbox, so I've got one from a breaker. Carb comes Tuesday and as soon as the airbox arrives I'll bung some juice in it and fire it up. Can't wait! (might bloody have to!)
I got a brand new stand complete with hinge rod off ebay, because the one which came with the engine was worn. Only problem is that the hinge rod on the engine is seized in its hole so I'll have to drill it out. I got some Titanium Nitride drill bits but my drill won't fit under the crankcase to drill it out. Got a cheap drill extender and I'll have a go with that. Nothing's ever easy.
