Yep the rear restrictor is the thin bit with the disc. It's toast. The head end has a welded in cone. Sorry the only sticker I found was already on the can.
Finally wrestled the cone out of the header this morning, Undid the head bolts and left them to settle. More pix tonite
Undid all the head nuts, 3 of the studs came away with the nuts. Took off the head. The barrel came off after the lightest tap with a wooden mallet, and a little press on the kickstart. The dog tried to help (but got in the way really) Head, barrel and piston are in good nick. The top end bearing looks brand new. The nuts were seized onto 3 of the the studs. I put each one in the vice and put a drop of oil on them then squirted them with lighter fluid. Then I wound the nuts down onto the good thread of the stud, and wire brushed and oiled the threads, and finally got the nuts off the threads.
lol when i tried to get the restriction out of my zx i had on my 50... it fell into the expansion chamber :emb: :w00t: was standing there for 15 mins trying to shake it out :w00t: just thought id share that imp:
when i fitted my tt was rushing about and toatlly forgot about my restrcitor and put it on with it on lol. a day later blew the welds off and was ratterling about in the expansion chamber for months :w00t:
We've all done it mate! I put 5 litres of oil in my van with the sump plug out once. I wondered where all the oil on the drive was coming from! :w00t:

Dremelled the edges of all the ports and finished with million grade emery paper last night. Washed all the crap out with petrol, dried and oiled it all up like a Chippendale. I replaced the cleaned up engine studs, and fitted the base gasket and barrel, pushing the ends of the piston rings in with a pencil, so as not to damage them. It slipped on easy enough. Can't fit the head yet, because the engine came without a thermostat, so I'd better get one. I also need a temperature sensor, as that wasn't on there either. I found this site useful for the exploded diagrams- http://www.easyparts.nl/showdrawing.php ... th=-d34463 (I'm too cheap to buy a manual!)
