Upset a customer, can't do his bike til next week because of the painting, he is most pissed off as it's running like a bag of shite.
Got the top coat onto the apprentices engine and belt cover, this darker silver colour quite suits it.
Rang PMtuning for the new air cooler cover and rolling nut cover, they got the cooler cover in but not the nut cover, and they wont let me pay for them and put it on back order either. Bit miffed at that but hey...........
I'll be back out in about half hour to laquer the engine and belt cover, then that will probably be it until tomorrow for me.:(

Sometimes these things have to be done. This is the apprentices engine for his sr125. Wouldn't have painted it except for the fact that it needed a new crank, so while it's apart.............why not.
Plus the fact that it is a good advertisement for me and what i can do.
I'm more looking forward to how the Runner turns out over the next few days. Plus the wheel for the Katana.
Hopefully by the end of next week both the Runner and Katana will be up for sale.
Picking up another bike in the morning. Haven't got a clue what it is; don't know the make or model, year or nothing. All I know is it has only done 1000 miles and is a supermoto/enduro style bike. And it's been stood for a couple of years.
With luck I might start on that RX100 before christmas:rolleyes:

Patience in cleaning, thats where the dremmel comes in use. Get into all the little nooks and crannies. The painting part is easy. As merlin said when he did his, it's all in the prep work.

Should be able to start,if I get 1 kit by early next week....but the serious stuff.like pencil wire brushes,is a slow mo from China 1st few weeks Nov.,:(., -
getting job done/fair.propers not the issue - it's the waiting in between that's enough to drive you ga-ga.o_O.

So i picked up the other bike this morning, turned out to be a 60 plate Malaguti X3M Enduro 125cc.
Stolen recovery so ignition has gone south, as has the headlight and shroud. But nothing else much. Apparently it starts and runs, but wont try until i've given it the once over sometime next week.
Already had interest shown in it by a couple of customers friends. Once done should be a good sale.

Well, the apprentice has just been sent home.
He's just knackered the first two threads on his new crank!
    How?
He hasn't cleaned out the dowel holes on his cases properly like he was told, so the two halves don't go together flush. Told him to separate the halves again, as he's been shown, put the nut on flush with the end of the crank and tap it gently and it'll come out.
    What did he do?
Put it on a few threads and whack it with the steel hammer!
Twisted the nut on the shaft.
    And i don't have an M12 x 1.25 die to recover it............until monday.
So off he's gone in a mood.
Never mind, we all learn the hard way sometimes

Waiting on the second coat of primer to cure on the runner panels.................................(fingers drumming on desk)
However the dinner is on and cooking (nice pork joint, roasters, farm fresh veg), the washing is done and drying, I've run round with the vacuum, maybe have an hour of COD3.............just to pass the time you know.
And the other Katana wheel is ready to put the tyre back on now.

ive got around to doing stuff.
went and got all docs/pics of the cb400 from my granddads.... 10 old MOT`s, owners manual, logbook and a shit ton of old tax discs!
ran the jetwash over the CB and got the grime off it. looks good.
ive been playing with the vision though.. swapping a broken ps3 for a nb50 so I can restart the project. stripped it down (engine out and forks/bars off. hopefully I can sneak out to go over to the nb50 soon...

Today I started to repair my chinese ped, I managed to remove the broken bolt in the Side casing, 2 yeas old and going rusty!! I replaced my reed valve for a 6 pettle type, and the intake rubber for an unrestricted unit which I found wasn't restricted in the first place!! I would have got more done but I got dragged away to do something else. I have the exhaust derestricted ( technigas) as the original is very rusty for a 2 year old bike, and the barrel is also had its exhaust port bored out ( the port height is untouched) , just got to tighten up the variatior pulley and change the oil pump and refit the top end. Hopefully the bike will go.

been over and got the nb50, engine is out already, wiring loom is off it too. now I know what ive got to do, should be a nice easy engine in job. going to cut the original engine mount and weld the speedfight mount on to that and brace it. then engine in and I can start on the wiring as soon as I get some time. I should do this as a fricking job.
