Test ride completed, idle mixture screw set. Let's see this time if it can stay off my bench for more than a week! (starter seems a bit reluctant to engage properly though!!!)

Been thinking more about what Turbovetto said about the carburation and oil, makes we weep as there must have been loads of people messed with jetting when it was the bloody oil pump! Things fixed by the new pump include the revs at start-up and tick-over, before I just couldn't get them to match, it would either rev it's nuts off on auto-choke or die when warmed up. Now it's fine, just a reasonable drop in revs as the choke operates.

Really you shouldn't attempt any carburettor adjustment until the motor is up to temp. Chokes (especialy auto chokes) are rubbish - and their job is just to get the thing started.

    well....
went for a ride with mitchellgrainger. all was well until we got to mcdonalds after doing 15-20 miles at most. then the shit started. long story short, ended up stopping several times on the way back, pushing it a little. and revving its nuts off whilst mitchell stopped cunts in cars overtaking me, thankyou for that btw, most would of just left me. heres a pic of when we got back to mine -

found out whats up with scoot.
weve tore the engine apart, quite literally, piston etc off, belt, rollers, clutch, off, wheel off, carb and inlet off, getting a total rebuild tonight (local bike shop has all the bits) stepdads just gone out to get it all now, should be done by midnight if were quick :)

All adjustments were done after a warm up ride, long after the auto choke had done it's thing. Trouble was when the tick-over was set right when warmed up, it would scream it's nuts off on the next cold start. Better now though.

Buggered off on the VT for most of the day, gave ped a longer test ride when I got back (interesting after getting off a 500!), it's about as good as it's gonna get now I think without ripping it all to bits and rebuilding from scratch.

You might try closing the air screw a bit (which should make the revs higher when it's warm - if I have understood anything) and then re-setting the tickover screw down a bit - or is this what you did ?

Pretty much what I did, but since the new oil pump it seems better less of a problem than it was with the old one.

this is what i done today :D

Stage 6 medium torque spring in
    [IMG]

Stage 6 clutch bell and malossi belt in
    [IMG]

    Stage 6 riser on
    [IMG]

feels so much smoother with the new spring and belt, doesnt hesitate on takeoff and the acceleration is much better. Think im a little too light on the rolllers though, i mixed 4.5g with 4g's and it feels like it's revving too high, will find out when i sort my tacometer, but for now, im happy:D

been messing around with my new md80 camera since yesterday, just generally messing about and trying to figure out a few mounting positions, cable tied this one on for now to see if its a good angle, if it is, im gonna get a tiinnnnnnny dremel drill bit, drill 2 small holes and put some tiiiiny bolts through to hold it.
also going to try a clip on mount on my jacket when im riding to get a view of the bars/speedo and road. see what works and ill be putting better videos on youtube lol
