I got paid my annual bonus today :D. I have ordered new tyres and valves, wheel bearings and seal for the front wheel, a bodywork kit in white from Germany, a brand new black belly pan, a high-security talking alarm from a UK seller, a 6mm Polini jet kit for the 17.5 Dell'Orto carb, an adjustable angle, covered air filter (Malossi lookalike) and some gearbox oil from P€dparts, a back brake cable and some second-hand (but great condition) Speedfight handlebar fairings.

The mini rev counter is on it's way, as are the new teardrop-shaped front indicators to fit to the front fairing. Also, the second long retro Peugeot chrome emblem has arrived, to match the first one.

I'll wait until this lot starts to arrive and then I need paint, lacquer and some spare time to paint the panels. I'm on the look out for an all-black seat to replace the red and black TKR one

Like I said in other posts, no compromises, it's all going to be good.

I need to figure out a way to open up the right hand clock hole of the Speedfight clocks (where the temperature gauge is now) to take the slightly larger rev counter, but I'll tackle that problem when I have the rev counter in my hand. It's going to be a 'Measure eleventy times, cut once' moment. The step drills at work aren't big enough and I might need a 48mm uplighter hole cutter to do the job, once I've worked out how to keep it centred and I have a sort-of plan in my head.

    @ Richie P

Check out the chrome badges and emblems on pages 70 and 72 that I will be putting on my Peugeot TKR as part of it's makeover - when you can get stuff like this, stickers seem crap by comparison.

I have a limited few stickers on order but I'm undecided about using them at the moment. I'll try some mock-ups when the paintwork is finished.

best of all, both have abs.perfect mounting tabs & screw holes,so assembling a exact fit set of plastics-
next week, floorboards an the hunt to be on for the elusive, rare species...known as the front lower panel.:).

day off today so lots going on.
big service day for the jog. ive decided to sell it on but I wont be happy selling it until I know its 100% spot on and nothing can really go wrong with it so -
replacing gearbox oil, drive belt, brake shoes front and rear, brake cables front and rear, replacing air filter, spark plug, cleaning the carb out, fresh tank of petrol and oil and got some new tyres for it. I think £400 is a fair price for it in almost mint condition once all of that is done.

triumph is being collected in 30 mins too, having heated grips fitted along with some of those hand shields that some supermotos/crossers have, new panniers and topbox, adjustable screen, having crashbars and spotlights fitted and some new tyres.

might be buying a Honda vision for old times sake again tomorrow, going to go and have a look at it. wouldn't be a daily, would just be something id get out occasionally and have a joy ride on and keep immaculate.

ive seriously been considering a full frame rebuild on the italjet, every nut and bolt removed, cleaned, rebuilt, I know why it wont start, brother wont listen. the coil/cdi isn't bolted down, it wont spark unless its bolted down. but a full strip and rebuild on that would be fun and I could never sell the thing so itd be a keeper forever.
only considering it. hes not doing anything with it so its just sitting there.

the hand guards are more for stopping wind hitting my hands, I always wear gloves but its just that much nicer and ive not seen it done on a tiger 800 before. wont stop any injuries to hands but itll keep the weather away from them I hope.

Was thinking about the ones L shaped, that come out the end of the grips, similar to the grip on a old cutlass.;).

Taking the V/C out for a spin 'bout 06:00 & hitting Tescos,to stock up on bread for the freezer -
    It's helping to feed me.!.......
    when back,SORNING it,as disc out tommorow -
settle down into new job,meantime...be feeding it a little of what it needs,to get otr properly.:).-

    P.s.,thanks for the ins.advice,guys..helped tremendously.;).mk.

That almost did'nt go to plan.!.......
took absolutely foooooorever.o_O to start this morning - right up to the point.i flatted the battery & ended up putting back in the yard, parked up,locked up......just about to throw over cover.? -
yep.......i wonder?,b.....s,kept the motor running & basically carried it out of the back yard.;),did the run, back home, emptied bucket of all the tools I NEVER needed + ran through the list of all the bits,to sort it before back on the road-
then proper tucked in for beddie-byes....headed upstairs and sorned it.:(. -
So,to sum up my experience with the Vivacity.so far...........
    excellent engine,fun,reliable,responsive -
handling....o.k.,once your used to it -
reliable, fairly well built...liking the slightly more regal look as opposed to the more aggresive look of the Speedfighter or purposeful look of the Trekker -
    petrol consumption...(don't care,it's a 2t.:D. ) -
    Downsides:-
    #1.catalysed engine.
    #2.catalysed exhaust.
#3.some difficulty in regard to spares,as slightly less popular variety in a certain range + costs (varie much.o_O ).
    'bout it really.....
ooh, finally found out proper use,for the buttflap in the bucket.....it's not for cooling the engine / after a blast -
It's for changing/access to the spark plug (with a spanner designed by midgets.!!).mk.:).

At least it's not as bad as a Vespa or Lambretta - you had to be a Gynaecologist to do anything on those scooters with the bike in the frame! :p

    Not a major issue,certainely...already sorted a socket+a bar to slide through,only need a 1/2" turn.then/by hand.!.-
What's wrong with gynacology.?,like the Star Trekking/self.....especially happening in East End.,David Attenborough moments = memories & Usain Bolt speeds..............:D.

    Nothing's wrong with Gynaecology.

"I like looking up old friends and as I used to be one, I still dabble in it occasionally, just to keep my hand in!"

Just joking. I'll get my coat...
