One item would be best. Two sheets of heavy cardboard between the wheels should be OK and either newspaper or 'death by bubblewrap' to pack around them is fine by me.

    There's no rush Mark, OK?

    Well the zip is up for grabs this weekend, so that should be gone;
The Katana won't be far behind, just got to do the rear wheel and run it in properly.
That leaves me with just the RX100.
Now the FS1E, thats worth serious money when it's fully restored, i'm talking over 3k.
And the Triumph Trophy, i'm thinking of replacing my ZZR.

To think we crashed a poor Fizzy into the hay bales during Moped Mayhem a long time ago. It scares me to think what they are worth these days.

Kinda got myself thinking about doing the older bikes as well as the scooters, obviously the scoots will be the main stay, but there is money to be made in the older stuff, especially if you get the right stuff. It's quite easy to get them into concourse condition with todays technology and restoration processes, parts i know will be tough to source in some cases, but thats par for the course, however i've got contacts in the casting and engineering industry that i can call on if needed. And being a toolmaker before i developed the dreaded skin rash on one hand helps in that department. I know the people with the proper machines.
I've also got my eye on a 1964 Excelsior, and a 1967 Matchless.

the triumph is a beautiful bike, granddad had one, the only problem he had with it was he thought the brake pads wore out faster than all his other bikes but then I think he kept putting cheap pads in

what about a bonny steve? or a tiger? tigers are nice... ;)

Bonny would be nice, but try and get one on the cheap (ish). But it would have to be an old one, 70's model. And then it wouldn't get sold on..............be MINE!

Well, i caved in after the lads grandfather practically begged me to fix it tonight.
The bag of shite FXR180 is back.
He's taken the PM exhaust off it because it was too loud and fitted the standard pipe back on. But now it only does 40mph and bogs like a good 'un. And it has the standard airbox on it.
Now i know that it has/had a 105 main jet in there, so my instant thinking was to drop the jet size a few points to compensate for the standard pipe.
    Like hell!
Dropped it to a 98, still as bad, dropped it to an 82, still bad, dropped again to a 78, friggin stupid wouldn't move.
Cleaned the carb out, dropped the 105 back in, better, but not much; upped it to a 112, now its getting to 60mph and we're getting happier.
But now it's 9:30 at night and i'm stopping.
Put up with it til saturday morning and we'll start again.:(

I think it will be a extremely long time until I get my all time dream bike -
1959 BSA 650 super rocket. would just love one and would be my forever bike, the big bike that id never ever let go, sure there are nicer bikes but ive always loved that particular bike. just something about it. the triumph tiger for me is just one of those bikes that is achievable, that ill be able to use almost daily if I needed to, but could lock away and keep off the road for a month or two if I couldn't afford to run it or sell on for what I bought for if I ever needed to, its the sensible option for me. getting my test done fairly soon so I can hurry up and get it before sprog comes along. ill be getting rid of the current stable to get the triumph but will be 100% worth it. but not selling the italjet. never again. shes mine. forever.

ive started to tear her down so I can clean the frame up and give it a coat of hammerite, hopefully I can do something with the wheels next week, they badly need to be cleaned up, if I cant get them shiny chrome/polished again, I want to atleast get them painted silver, they just don't look right in black shit paint.
ive sent the panels off to have the lugs repaired and they will all be professionally resprayed the original red and cream colour scheme, im going to spend a hour or two tomorrow cleaning up the footboard and legshield with some back to black. other than that, engine etc will stay as it is until I can be bothered getting the engine out to be rebuilt yet again but with a stage6 70cc kit, 21mm dellorto carb with a manual choke, pollini variator, a sports exhaust (yet to decide) adjustable clutch, gear up kit etc etc.... may be calling on your services soon steve if you don't mind helping :)

I'm down to one project now, but have started searching for the next few, so i've got some space available; what do you need? engine rebuild i'm guessing? and maybe painted casings?

Hi folks. Been busy with the kids (holidays) so haven't been on the innernet (better things to do). But I'm back. And man, have I been busy. My GF did it again! Stage 6 street race blew up - same as the sport pro. To understand why - see here:
Now once is bad luck. Two times (for the same reason) begins to look like a trend. So until I can find a decent piston for the stage 6 kits, no more Stage 6 !
I put the Top perf 50 back on and that blew a hole in the piston (head gasket failure- my fault) which made the crank bearings crunchy so I had to completely rebuild the engine yesterday and I got a new piston for that kit. Had to try 5 different shops and only one had the decent piston. How fucked is that.
Tested the case for air-tightness - passed with flying colours.
Took it for a spin yesterday - too heavy on the rollers - but she can run it in like that (less revs) and then we will adjust. Fed up with taking her to work in the car !
Also had a transmission issue (big bearing failed in the transmission case).
I am so sick of her scooter ! But we worked out it's done 80,000 kilometers or more (at full pelt) so these things are to be expected.
Took no photos of the rebuild (like I'm supposed to). What an arse. Got no Go Pro either. I'm on the look out for a drift - but that will have to wait because I want a Malossi 70cc iron kit for my gal. She needs the oomph.
