don't think the 172 melody would work, id need to put a horizontal engine in and not a vertical, the rear wheel would stick out way too far. it would be pretty cool if I could do it and I could pull up to the lights, smile at the chav on his aerox and then just wheelie away and hell be WWWTTTTFFFFFFF
but a sa50 vision would work better with its frame, I could fit a sr125 engine into it pretty easily and then give the engine to shiny red for a sr183 build, could be watercooled fairly easily, just need to weld radiator mounts under the front plastic to the frame, drill some holes in the plastic for air to get to the radiator, would be sooo easy to do that swap.

I got sent home early, too hot to work in the garage and the air conditioning isn't working, so took a detour and went to my moms, took back the italjet from my brother because frankly, hes just ruining it. frame needs a weld where its cracked but wont be any problems. hes been doing burnouts on the rear tyre. it needs a few odds and sods and a fooking respray but shell be done soon. properly this time.

big shopping list with italjet spares at the moment.....
    specs will be -
mallossi 21mm carb and inlet kit including manual choke.
    mallossi delta adjustable clutch
    stage 6 70cc kit
    mallossi Kevlar belt.
stage 6 primary gear up kit
    mallossi coil and cdi unit
    mallossi variator kit
    leo vince ZX chrome exhaust
will be making a custom air box to fit and it will have a few brake and suspension goodys too.

panels are also being sent off to a specialist to be repaired + new lugs put on + resprayed and im considering stripping it to the frame, sending frame, variator cover, rear rack and a few small bits to be powdercoated.

I finished the prep work on the rear wheel tonight. I sanded and filled the small gouges in the bead rim where some idiot had hammered something like a screwdriver into it while trying to remove a tyre in the past. I was worried that if I didn't repair the bead rim, the gouge might cause a slow puncture or even a blow-out - not good.

Then it was two coats of U-Pol No. 8 etch primer. I'll let that paint go off fully then a light sanding before the top coat and lacquer. I just had enough primer left for this wheel.

I also acid etched the Yasuni Z exhaust can and mounting plate, to remove the rust then started to paint the can with HT black paint when it ran out - bugger!

Just for kicks, I also acid treated, primed and painted the Trekker 100 inlet manifold to match the engine cases, just in case I need it if the Nakaru manifold doesn't work out.

The front wheel is still in the paint stripper and will get the acid treatment this weekend. Hopefully I get paid on Monday, then it's off to get some more Acid etch and HT paint.

I'll post some more photos when the primer work is finished on the wheels and the £10 Yasuni Z is fully painted, and looking like it's worth a lot more than the tenner I paid for it ;) .

I've one more week in work then I have two weeks of holiday, during which I intend to re-assemble the engine and test it, as well as get the wheels finished, fit the number plate light, wire that in and replace the rear grab rail with a rear carrier, so that I can add a top box eventually.

My last big parts spend comes at the end of August, when I get paid some annual bonus money :D . I'll be ordering the new body panels, the red paint and lacquer, a new number plate, some tyres and things like cables and other miscellaneous parts that are still on my shopping list to complete the bike and get it ready for it's MOT.

I acid dipped the front wheel of my TKR2 today. The only thing that's annoying me about this wheel is that one of the wheel bearings fell to bits as I was trying to remove them before the acid dip, leaving me with an outer bearing raceway stuck in the wheel .

Any ideas as to how best to remove the stuck outer raceway?

    internal bearing puller

or a dremmel, grind through outer race on opposite sides, time consuming but it works

Well, after some Dremel work and using a specially bent screwdriver, to enable a better grip against the bearing face, I finally got the jammed raceway out. I've repaired any minor damage to the bearing face with epoxy putty, at the same time as repairing some gouges and damage to the tyre bead rim caused by screwdrivers and tyre levers being hammered in to remove tyres, instead of breaking the bead seal first.

Epoxy putty is really good stuff :D.

Therre's a bit of final prep work needed, then this wheel can get acid etch primered and painted.

Simply Bearings do decent quality 6202-2RS bearings and the shaft seal for the spacer at a good price, so they'll get added to the shopping list of parts needed.

Decided,it's a bit pointless.looking for particular panels for the V/C,looking into 6 piece body-kit's,though it's getting new belly-pan trim's (new) may be an issue.:).

    Mark,

Give Three Cross Motorcycles a call. They are the main Peugeot importer and if the spare parts can be had, they will know.

Got a set of bars from them, hanging on my radiator at the moment.;). -
was thinking in the main though, considering the cost of individual items & totting up....a full body kit, running c£135.00 to £180.00,might make more sense,i.e.,get it mostly all in,and it's new -
good if I kept bike, longtime or helpful in making sure, everything'd lined up properly, cause don't think my spill the other month was V/C's only -
judging from issues, such as scraps, lug damage or stresss on screw holes/slots.mk.

I want a TKR body kit, but it seems that only a certain French scooter parts site has them in stock. Oh well, only a couple of weeks to wait for my annual bonus money then I'm having some of that, along with a new black belly pan that I can get for this side of £20 in brand-new condition.

With all of the other bits I have on the shopping list including paint, a new 17mm carb, body kits, tyres and other parts, I'll be rinsing my way through about £300. I hope that the end result is going to be bloody worth it.

If those new Viva wheels come up to scratch that you've ordered Mark, can I sort something out with you about the old Viva wheels at the end of August?

    South Manchester, near the airport.

If the shipping cost proves to be an issue for you, even with someone cheaper like Parcel2Go, as long as you can weigh the box and give me the dimensions, along with your address details, I might be able to get them picked up on my company's UPS account.
