Spoiled for choice at the moment, whether to use the 1100 or the zip backwards and forwards to work. Decided to alternate days, one on the zip, one on the 1100.:D
The Sym Jet has just gone out, new exhaust, new air filter, re-jetted, happyish customer, happy that he got the bike back, but pissed off because the genny is shot and it's gonna cost him another £100, for the genny and a new battery. They are horrendously priced, none on fleabay, none at any of my contacts, only choice is the importers.

    THE V-CLIC IS BACK!!!!!
    Not starting.
Got spark, got fuel, vac at the carb intake, fuel tap works, no fuel reaching the plug.
I suspect the inlet valves. Will have a look on saturday.

Got a zip top end to do tomorrow so that comes first.

I saw Katie Melua at Birminghams Symphony Hall just before she became a hit, I was spellbound by her voice. Bought the album, fell asleep listening to it several times, so soothing.
Sometimes, doing engines with soothing melodic music on, seems somehow to make the work flow better.o_O

Changed the clutch springs in the zip late this afternoon, well actually i didn't. I got my apprentice to do it. That was after i had him strip the trailer of all its wood sides and floor, ready for the new channels to convert it to a bike trailer. Then i had him make the tea. Then i had him dig out the old frame from the first katana i did, thats going to the scrapman, and sweep out that side of the workshop. Then i had him road test the zip i just did the top end on.
Said it bogged a bit so i had him re-jet it then road test again. Going great now.
I changed the front pads in another zip and rear pads in an nrg. Had a look at that bloody V-Clic, gonna have to strip it out i think, something wrong somewhere and i cant quite put my finger on it.
Got a new carb for the apprentices nrg, had him strip the old one out and fit the new one, he thought it would be a straight swap, Laugh:p , I nearly choked on my tea!
It came with a 70 main jet fitted, and he had to go all the way down to a 55 before it got right, jet by jet, and i had to show him how to modify the throttle cable to suit. Talk about moan about the amount of petrol he said he was losing every time he opened up the bowl.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF CARB JETTING!:D

Ooh, yeah, picking up a new bike tomorrow. A suzuki 100cc something or other, can't remember exactly what he said it was, fairly old one by his description, but you never know, don't really care at the moment. A sit up and beg type of thing, geared, not a scooter, paid him £20 for it!

    Experimented with pressures today,f+r (manufacturers/peugeot)-
    1st....no effing way.like slippery as f...,
settled back to peugeot an see how it goes tomm.,waiting for new bits,to see if any difference- front at times still feeling unsure, like a stone skimming over water an not as 'planted' and adhering to the road as before.
As it stands at the moment,be trying used wheel/ disc/tyre.good.+thinking of grabbing new spindle +nut.
    If that does'nt work,starting to think impact position(slide/lever knobs grazed)-(front panel outer edge,rear panel graze)....no other visible.noticeable damage.......culprits?,forks,h/races,bars,or god forbid frame/headstock twisted (which would prob.with forks,make economic sense,to get a 'cheap' used V/C).??.
    P.s.,front 1.75mm....rear visually within (literally new).Michelin Pilots.,
    P.p.s.:).,
be running 21/25 psi tomm.(std.19/23,+2 each to take into account any gauge descrepincies;) ).

I looked at it, thought about cycling to go and get the carb and panels so I replaced the front part of the wiring loom for a used one off a italjet formula. the torpedo now turns over. not going to turn it over until I get the carb on and fuel etc in as top end has only just had a rebuild. got to figure out how to get the kickstart back on now and do all the other niggly jobs. waiting on a brake cable to be atleast able to get it on the road somehow, I rode it with no front brake for a while before my brother sold it, can do it again. get paid on Friday hopefully, then I can order all the bits I need. no paintjob for quite a while. cant afford it. need to find a new job.

I'm such a skinflint I drain the carb by turning it upside-down - through a coffee filter, before dumping the petrol back in the tank..........
