....ring them up directly, and ask them -
    after all.you're a customer/they're a buisness-
it's in their interest's to take that sort of scenario into account. ;) .

Finally got motivated to start on my son's ped, taking out old oil pump etc. Leaving installing the new components until tomorrow, I'm not that motivated lol and weather was too nice most of today to be stuck in the garage. :)

Took gf's scoot for an 8 am ride this morning to get a new rear bulb. I dunno whether it was some crap in the carb, the depression pump (replaced with a straight outlet pipe/fuel hose/on-off tap & condemned the carb outlet to the depression pump this weekend) too heavy on the rollers (lightened by a couple of grams) or the fact that the weather has been fine & presumably dried the wiring loom from the soaking it got a few days ago - but the thing goes like a rocket - with no hics/misfires at full pelt.
We'll see what she says in half an hour when she gets home from work - but it was fine when she got to work this morning.
In any case - I have the Doppler Digital Direct at the end of the week - I may delay fitting it since her scoot goes fine - and is plenty fast enough for a wee lassie.

It's me age, use to start a job and finish it if it took amphetamines to do it :D Now I pace it all, something to do in the morning as it's rain forecast. Also need to move all the bikes out to fully prime the new pump after fitting it (run it up for two minutes at tick-over) then test ride, and couldn't be arsed with doing all that tonight! Nice bath and feet up watching telly for the evening sounds like a much better option. :) With my winter blues I get, I'm just glad I actually got in the garage and did something today!

emailed pedparts with a picture of the bracket. They got back to me asking for the order number/address so i guess they're going to send a replacement. Took the bracket off earlier ready to be welded tomorrow anyway

ordered vulcanised stage 6 reed box (second hand) for my gf's scoot - currently running a non-vulcanised stock reed box with Malossi reeds. That should help things a bit. Even with gaskets & sealant I know this reed box leaks - albeit ever so slightly. Underwater, you can see bubbles slowly forming around the admission stack (yes, I dunk -test my engines !)

Ha ! Just solved the last major engineering problem with the Typhoon refurb.
The rear shock on this thing looks like it's been left out in someone's garden to rust for two years - which is in fact the case.
So my problem was: how to get the sodding thing apart so I can clean the damper, strip & de-rust the spring for a paint job, and de-rust the top spring holder for a re-spray. Well stone me - the top is actually a threaded rod with some silent blocks and a bolt. Removed the shock, the bolt, and with a bit of WD40 and some tools, got the top spring tensioner cap off, despite the rust.
    Result !
I think I can put the top cap in the drill in a vice and attack it with some interesting abrasive doodads I have lying around - the spring is not too bad. More abrasive drill type doodads will see to that. And the Damper is a sandpaper job.
    Chuffed. Last hurdle in sight.

decided that the italjet is 100% a keeper. ive tried selling in the past and just couldnt.
my 70kit i got for it arrived a while back so thats going under the bed for now. going to order some gloss black VHT engine paint. next on the list is a mallossi multivar variator and im going to give the technigas silentpro exhaust a go, see what its like. no harm in trying it for £40 while its on offer. going to get all the bits bit by bit, then once ive got literally every part i need and all the spares i could ever need for it. im going to strip it down to the frame and rebuild, refurb or repaint literally everything. no kidding. first im going to tackle the wheels. thatll be a job for sunday.

    When riding at speed,at least-
set up some sort of light barrier to deflect focus of rain from a particular area, maybe?.
