Straight cut gears can howl like air raid sirens though, are you ready for that? You might end up sounding like a Stuka dive-bomber.

Fecking wimmin's knickers ! Naw - just kidding. Merlin is correct. But the noise of a decent pipe will drive that into insignificance......

Damn, you need something like the residency law in the U.S.
You live where you say you do. If you have a legal mailing address in a state, you are a resident.
Very important to the full time RV crowd.
CA, registration for an RV $2,000+. North Dakota $150. You choose.

Just ordered it. The new Malossi 15/38 gear-up that is. And the new bearing and seal.
I've got the Malossi Pipe on it, the MHR Team Racing i think, which sounds nice as it is, deeper than most but you know i'm coming behind you:cool:
My mate always said that if i'm going to do all these scooters then i really should have one that is the dogs gonads myself; well, I have one. And i'm having so much fun on it.

New carburetor for the GY6. So far so good. Will not know for sure until it sits overnight.
I do not want to pull the tank to replace the petcock, but will if I have to.
It passes the suction test. Gas flows when I suck on the vacuum line, and stops when I don't.
Chinese POS needs oil change after the flooding. Later tonight maybe.

You are 8 hours ahead. I used to call London at 7:00 AM our time to get an engineer there at 3:00 PM London time.

Looks like my Carburetor change worked. No flooding today. Good engine idol right out of the box. Lots of power.
Nice. That was last week's GY6 Blues, I am only guessing what the next issue will be.
Oil change, and time for a run.

I'm watching a certain item on the bay of E's. If I manage to bag it for the price I think that I might, there will be a massive "Wahoo!!" in here this time next week. If not, I suspect that one of you thieving gets fine upstanding scooter folk will have probably snatched it away from my grasp.

Well at 23:20 it was finally bought home, I was greeted by my big smiling idiot of a brother and I thought he was just happy to see the scooter. well turns out my brother may like me. just a little. since my scooter got stolen and written off, he said I can have the italjet for absolutely nothing. v5 has been signed over. its officially mine.
    Untitled.png
that is how it looks now. I had to edit picture to censor quite a rude word that my brother thought it would be hilarious to spray paint onto the wall. needless to say, now that it is mine, unlike my brother who has shelled out ALOT getting her to this stage only for me to plaster stickers on it and to rip the seat, I will be doing a proper job of this. to date this is what has been done -
bore has been bored out to 60cc`s along with brand new piston and rings
    new crank seals and bearings
new gearbox bearings, seal and oil.
    new gaskets all round.
    Kevlar drive belt.
    5.5g rollers.
    new clutch springs.
    new rear brake shoes.
new front brake pistons and seals and pads.
    new bulbs all round.
    new fork oil.

    to do -
    reconnect all the wires properly.
fit new carb and modify seat bucket to hold my air filter.
    change the fuel lines again
    get it running properly.
    derust and hammerite the frame.
    paint the wheels.
    paint the variator cover.
    fix rear mudguard.
fix lugs on panels, respray properly and refit.
    recover seat.
fit new rear tyre (idiot brother thought it would be hilarious to do burnouts last time we had it running)

today. I removed all those stickers. removed the illegal L plate that my brother fitted - that will of course be replaced with a proper and legal L plate. I have sanded down the top headlight cover. im going to remove the front panel if my brother ever shows up like he said he would and maybe get the mudguard off to start sanding down. whole scooter will be getting resprayed. just deciding on what sort of colour scheme I want to go for.

Got 2 new tyres fitted. Front one was worn and the rear was budget and the wrong size and rubbed the guard.

Had an old model runner come in with running issues, would start, bog then die. Cleaned the carb, changed the filter, still the same. Checked the plug, compression, changed filters, found a pipe flopping about, turned out to be the taps vac pipe. Strange because the carb doesn't have a vac pipe on it. Also found the running fault at the same time; fuel supply didn't work properly.
It would seem that the tap had jammed in the open position in the past and allowed the fuel to free flow, however it now seems that it has gone back to working properly, so needs the vacuum to be there. Trouble is, there's nowhere for it to go; they dont do a manifold that has a vac pipe fitted in it for the runner that i can find, but only had a quick look for one, so came up with an idea and it works nicely.
I used a 'T' connection into the crank case pipe as below. Works lovely.
Will give it a road test tomorrow to make sure all is well, then tidy up the pipe work a bit.
