    @mark
yeah I guess being a qualified mechanic + a mechanic as occupation + being on three other policies including a trade policy kind of helps me lol technically I don't even have to have my own insurance as could ride to/from work legally on the trade policy but its best to have cover for personal use + incase some bastard nicks one of my bikes.
reminds me. need to change address on insurance + licence

    Tell me about it.!.,
back then .you had a modest respect for them-
    now,not so much so.
Used to give kids a clip round the ear for being naughty- fkd up.when they changed that, look at the lil feral bstds now........
    People,notably myself.don't respond to a demand for respect,ever-
You earn it by the quality of your life & actions... .

What am I doing to my scooter tomorrow?

Well, I am finishing off the painting of the engine cases with Simoniz Steel Wheel paint and a couple of coats of lacquer. It's more of a gun metal grey, rather than the aluminium finish that usually gets used on most bike engine cases and should look the shizzle, as well as being a little different. If I can get the paint job finished tomorrow I'll post some photos and also some of the porting work I've done on the barrel.

My final drive bearing and oil seal has arrived, so once the paint is done, my rebuild can start. :)

Zip back on the road, insured with lexham.

Since changing the color from blue to black, should I be declaring this change to DVLA? asked a few lads and they told me they never bothered declaring the change.

yes you should declare it. it costs nothing apart from a stamp and a envelope and to keep legit, its just best done.

    OK, here's today's episode.

Here are the engine cases, finished in U-Pol No.8 acid etch primer. These have had a week for the paint to cure.

Here's what they look like now, after a few coats of Simoniz Steel Wheel paint and lacquer.

It's probably too subtle for these photos to show it, but the cases look quite a bit darker than the standard aluminium finish. They look bleeding gorgeous, even though I do say so myself and I'm really happy with the way they have turned out.

    Have you told your insurers?,
was it declared black on your application or blue-
a policy can be invalidated if any changes are not declared.....
    I should'nt worry about telling them as it's a non-mechanical modifacation.

This engine is going to be a work of art at the end of this; it's almost a shame to put it back on the bike. :D
