    @ Mark

If you need a re-inforcing plate for your seat, let me know. I can cut, drill and M6 tap a plate for you from the piece I have, as long as I know the size required and the hole centres measurements.

I've measured roughly 20cm across the top-
    good viable flat surface....
    going down,about 13cm,before protrusions start to make things difficult.mk. 2014-06-09 04.59.56.jpg 2014-06-09 04.59.56.jpg 2014-06-09 05.00.22.jpg

Does the plate really need to be that big? Can you knock up a fag packet drawing of what you need, so I get a picture in my head of what's needed?

Here's my bit of fabrication work for today. I think you can work out what these are going to end up as...

I've left the right hand ends unfinished, as I want to double-check my measurements before I cut and round them off. Measure twice, cut once...

Thanks to Stevep for the images that gave me a lot of help in fabricating these.

    :D,eep.:).-
that was just an example,of the area I have to work with........
    I think i've come up with a novel,but rather inventive.but permanant solution.;).,
I'm going to assemble a collectiin of door hinges-
I shall deconstruct them,by sanding off the ends.in order to push the pin out......and keep the side, that has 2 perfectly formed receptacles.for the ends of the latch-
then it'll be a simple matter if bolting it to a selected piece of aluminium(C 4 for hinge)+(2+2 to ali)lining it up,then drilling 2 holes for retaining bolts.the other 2 will be easy,simples.:).

Fixed the puncture in my zip tonight, :) think i might get new tyres though, the front is starting to show cracks in the side walls, nothing major but they're there. Also fitted a new oil pump belt because i dont know when it was done last, and a new drive belt whilst i was in there. Not so aggressive on rapid takeoff now, the front stays down a bit more than it used to, but will probably change when its worn in a bit;)

Can't believe that bloody V-Clic came back in tonight. It's stripped the drivebelt, or at least the drivebelt is stripped, completely! All the 'v' teeth appear to have come away from the belt in strips. I cant find any reason for it. There is no damage to either of the faces on the clutch or variator, so i can rule those out as a cause, i'm thinking that maybe the torsion spring is too strong and crushing the belt sideways. As far as i am aware it has never been changed for a stronger one, at least not by me, and the owner says he doesn't know either. But if i change it for a weaker one, will it affect the bike detrimentally...........

A weaker torsion spring will cause the bike to 'change up' by a lower amount on inclines. Standard ones usually raise the revs by 1000 RPM, so a weaker spring will give you less than 1000 RPM revs increase on a hill.

Could it be too light rollers in the variator, causing 'snatching' of the belt, that might be damaging the teeth?

It's a Chinese-built French bike - what could possibly go wrong?

My father-in-law had one (a 1990 Yugo 511 made by Zastava) and it was that bad it was nicknamed the "You-don't-go".

In the three years that he had it from brand new, it went through two engines, one major electrical failure, the front brakes locked on solid the first day he got it and it had to go back for new pads and discs, he got soaked in a car wash, because of the gap at the top of the driver's door and right from day one, it seemed to 'crab' along the road, as if the sub-frames weren't lined up properly. Truly horrid and I reckon it was made at the end of a shift on a Friday.

Dan Aykroyd drove one (a Yugo 45) in the film Dragnet to show how bad they were and to take the mick out of them.

Not been on the pc much lately..

Zip has come a long way lately.

All panels polished, put back on, lights prepped and sprayed, exhaust changed, studs, gaskets, oil filter changed, air filter changed, new oil all around, chrome bits on the front shock cleaned up and a couple other little bits

Any how, went to start the ped today and to my surprise, nothing..

Luckily my new petrol filter and pipes just came, changed them, and bingo, shes alive!

Now just need some new bolts for the front and rear mudguards, oh and some way to mount the new 6x4 plate I got a while ago... still looking at the ice brackets, got one, just don't have the silver engine bracket mount.

Was going to send it in for the new mot today, although the rear tire is 100% illegal so will need to do that firstly :)

Going to try get some newer pictures up today.

Lada ...l. The U.S. did not allow these POS Soviet cars in the country.
I understand you could open the door by kicking the panel in the center.
