Believe me mate,i am so getting that!!!!-
went out for a blast, about 02:30 this morning..
when I lifted seat to take boa out;was like i'd opened a door to a sauna-
so putting that back on...pronto,and have a spare roll of tin-foil / may offer up some more re-enforcement-
When I lifted seat / this morning, kinda freaked me out a bit,an then some.,
On a lighter note, kept to 40mph today, doing the commuting 'sitch,to see how that works on mpg-
after I filled up (nuked a 3/4 tank 1st,tee hee).

Making plans right now,to give the rear of my exhaust a righteous wire brushing tommorow-
should never had cracked that egg on it.o_O.,
it's alright when going along at a clip....but whenever I slow down, blowback gives an impression.there's a giant fart following me.eeew.

Won't wire brush scratch it? If it's chrome try tin foil. Saves scratching it to pieces.

I put 65 miles on the POS China scoot today. It is running exceptionally well again. It is a bit like an ex-girlfriend, great one day, bitch the next. I almost have it idling normally.. almost.
I will need to spring for a real carb before it is really dependable, but I have other irons in the fire right now. Right now it starts, runs well, and gets me both directions. That and the thing is so damn much fun.

I cut some 25mm wide bars from the 5mm sheet of steel plate this afternoon. I'll take them to work tomorrow and round the ends off with the grinding wheels, then it's out with the oxy-acetylene to warm the bars up to bend them to the gentle 'S' shape for some Leo Vince-style exhaust brackets to secure my Technigas Next R pipe.

I could have bought the brackets I suppose, but where's the fun in that? Parts fabrication FTW!! These are a tad over-engineered in terms of the thickness of the steel but they'll hold, oh yes they'll hold.

I also smoothed out the exhaust port of the new barrel that's going on, to allow for optimum exhaust gas flow.

seat catch decided to come away from one of it's mounting points today.:(.,
why they did'nt bolt it on .instead of encasing it in plastic,i'll never know..........

One thing about San Diego, things do not rust here. You would have to import enough water to cause rust. Typical humidity is less than 20%. One of the benefits of living in a desert.

Bit of a downer for me today, my zips caught a nail in the front tyre:(, right in the middle of the tread, haven't had the time to whip the tyre off and plug it, been re-building an nrg engine. Suppose i'll have to go to work on the big bike then:cool:
