figured o/night,might be a good idea to re-direct the V/C's fuel overflow pipe (which was pointed at the 'warm' exhaust)-
    ooh,now I know why there's a heat shield under the petrol tank.....................ooops.;) .

Scuba, sorry to hear you are in pain.
I hope your operation went well.
I am 60+ and had a pretty physical life. I was dumb when young and broke this body all to shit. Waking up daily is a new experience in discomfort, but I caused all my own problems.
You are a young guy (compared to us geezers). It is not right you have to experience this.

Why were you selected to receive the burnt Karma burger in the restaurant of life award?

    Sorry my friend.

Weak as a kitten right now,bit of a chest infection/started last night-
still picking up the baby v/c tommorow, but thinking of cheating.....
gonna ride the 100 up there and take a comprehensive tool kit,and dismantle it / an ride home with it.;.,
    think it's a viable,cause history's dubious (thank you Tennant's Super.o_O ).,and as I don't want the frame or exhaust.,
I.e.,got stuff at home, like a rucksack.capable of carrying engine WITH rear wheel still attached.,+a s...load of other bags.......
Hope the guy does'nt mind me doing it in front of his house.;).

Mark, sounds like you could use a truck. I have a little Nissan Desert Runner pickup, and use the hell out of it. No problems in 11 years so far. I also have a bumper mount to carry scooters and small motorcycles under 400#.
These are handy if you don't have a trailer.

    Not a 4 wheel fan....
familiar with carrying things, centre of gravity, balancing an all that-
bike dry is only 79 kilos (-frame/exhaust,55??),so i'll probaly only be carrying the approx.weight of a teenager.;) .

Don't you have to hang special plates on when driving, seen something like that before-
are the only other people allowed to drive any vehicle/police?

dealer plates - I don't bother. because im a mechanic, I can drive a customers vehicle to/from a place of repair/to and from a MOT. if its being test driven I can drive it.
I haven't had my driving licence long enough to have dealer plates, my boss` son has some but we don't bother, we have two tow trucks (The merc and my ford transit) that can two anything that isn't driveable, if its driveable then it just gets driven through the traders/mechanics policy, I don't know the whole ins+outs of the whole thing but the dealer plates that you have to display sometimes are mainly for people delivering a new vehicle to a new owner

Finally, got the bleedin' nrg to rev into its powerband with the wheel on the ground. Turned out to be the clutch springs, too weak, changed them for some white ones, and away it went.
Still bogging badly at low end, idle screw still in all the way and wont idle at all, have to stay on the throttle, moved the slide needle through every position, no better, so has to be the idle jet too small.
Just ordered some so will see what happens later mid week.

On a lighter note, had a new customer bought in, got an 05 cbf 125. His list so far is:
New front pads and disc (he has been stopping on the caliper piston and gone right through the pads)
Right now one pad is hanging out the caliper, unbelievably dangerous.
Rear brake is completely siezed, no movement whatsoever. Needs complete rear hub stripout
Chain and sprockets, chain is hanging like the gardens of babylon, most of the teeth on the rear sprocket are chipped badly.
    Rear indicator is hanging off.
    No speedo cable.
No ignition barrel at all, he cut it off because he lost the keys.
He doesn't know if it has any MOT.
And he's only had it 2 months.
And he was giving someone else a backie with all this.................and NO FRIGGIN BRAKES AT ALL!!!!!
He'll either have no license or no life shortly i think.

In the past I have refused to sell a bike to a person because I thought he would kill himself right away. The first hint: he didn't want to wear a helmet on the test ride. When forced to, he would not buckle the strap.
second hint: he didn't know how to start it or how to find neutral.
I just shut it off and took the keys. Said "Sorry man, I will not be responsible for you getting hurt."
I am pretty sure I saved a life that day. The next guy brought his own helmet, jacket and gloves... He bought it.

    I let one of my good customers have a little blast on my zip earlier, i've got his runner in for repair and a pair of tyres, he went round the block, came back, asked if he could pop home for something;
he actually went home to show his mom MY bike, then came back and said he'll give me his bike and cash for mine!
    I'm still not selling it.........yet.
