I'd certainly ask more, especially with the amount of tuning gear on it. Also, it's always easier to negotiate down than up, so start higher and you may get knocked down less in haggling.

Just started looking at insurance for it, best price so far is £68, fully comp.:D
It pulls really well, at least up my driveway. Bit vicious if you rip the throttle open from standing, front end comes up real easy. Might use it for a while just to be sure everythings ok before i let it go, after all, i've still got the Katana.

Sack the Katana off and keep the Zip, that's what I'd do.

well, i think the katana is going to be marginally quicker than the zip, thats got the 70 kit, malossi variator, gear up, 21mm carb and stage 6 pro rep pipe. i've also GOT to fit a cone filter because of the angle of the carb due to the manifold coversion.
And its longer in body than the zip so will probably be more comfortable for me, rather than scrunched up like on the zip.
oh yeah, i think i've cured the nrg problem,

I cleaned, primed and painted the rotor today in black high temperature paint. It looks lush now and a lot better then when it was rusty (the seal for the coil pickup had been fitted wrongly in the past and water had got into the stator housing. I'll pick out the timing marks in some white paint using a cocktail stick to make them stand out and then that's ready to go back on.

I've found a few dings and scratches in the transmission case, not that the paint has been stripped off. I need to prepare these and fill them in somehow before painting. Metal-filled epoxy is the favourite in my head at the moment for this job, as I don't think that polyester filler will stick well enough. I'll take some pictures tomorrow and see what you guys think. My OCD monkey won't let me paint it until the dings are filled in.

Here are the pictures of the damage to the transmission case after I had stripped the paint off.

I've got some two-part epoxy putty from Wilkinson's and I'm going to try filling in the damage with that and sand it back. Epoxies are pretty good for adhesion, so this will be a fair test of how effective it is. I suspect that the damage was caused by a damaged kickstart lever.

    @Merlin

I'd use Chemical Metal on that

Chemical Metal is like car body filler (peroxide cured polyester) and I wasn't sure that it would stick well enough. I think I have some somewhere, so I'll give it a try before weighing in with the two-pack epoxy. I can use the epoxy to repair an iffy thread on the crankcase where the airbox bolts on. I am happier drilling and tapping epoxy then polyester when re-making a thread.

Belzona (http://www.belzona.co.uk/en/products/purpose/metal-repair.aspx) would be the absolute ideal for me, but this isn't a major repair anyway.

I'd attack it with 120, then 240, then 340 then every grade up to 1000, then 1500, then 2000 and then hit it with some belgom !

Yeah, that would make it shiny, but it wouldn't fix the dents in it.

Fair point, but I have a second hand water pump on my Ovetto which had a ding in it from a previous owner. Quite a biggy. Now it's mirror polished it's sort of hard to see. In fact from a meter away, you can't see it at all. Just a thought.

Nah, I'm going down the route of acid etch primer, then either original Satin Black, Gloss Red to match the bodywork, or maybe Gold. I'll decide once I've got the case filled, primed, guide coated and sanded.

Stay calm Steve ! You're right - but it's all relative. Shortly I'm going to do one on fucked-up driving and traffic jams. I've seen what passes for bad driving on UK vlogs and you guys AINT SEEN NUTHIN. There might be less cars - but theres such a greater proportion of CLUELESS LUNATICS that it kind of balances it all out. Plus, summer is coming. And then we get the traffic jams too !

Did mine last week on a 50cc minarelli engine, what a job, I reckon about 7hrs in the end. Heated it up first with no luck ended up drilling it out just take your time I say to reduce any engine case damage if that's where it's fitted.
