Time to catch up; piggy backing the neighbours broadband connection, from the garage!
Didn't get to Carspares for the new plugs, told the kid to F**K OFF and stop bugging me or else he can find another garage to fix his bike in future. He'll get it when i say its ready.
Maybe that should be in the rant topic, not hereo_O

These are for Turbovetto. I said I'd take some pictures of the part that I'd cleaned in Citric Acid and here are some 'before and after' shots. The part on the left had about 36 hours soak with some Scotchbrite pad scrubbing at intervals.

Pretty impressive, eh? I've got the centre stand in the Citric Acid bath at the moment, so expect some before and after shots of steel parts tomorrow.

Is 80psi on a compression test enough for an NRG 50cc standard everything?

It's at the lower end of what I'd expect ( I normally look for 80 to 110psi) but it should be OK. How's the bike running generally?

Fitted a replacement centre stand from italjet uk today on the drag. Nice bit of kit better than stock as it really lifts the rear wheel but it does make it hard to get on the stand. Took me best part of 6 hours to get the siezed centre bolt out from original stand ;(

Guys I need a question answering
Some tit (father inlaw) decided it was an ingenious idea to fit a bigger rear shock and bin the old one and now ive got the bike I need to get it sorted
Even when its on centre stand the back wheel touches ground
Whats best way to stop this ?

    Hacksaw?
Nah- just kidding. I'd go to a scrappy and find one that fits. Take measurements - the shock you want might not necessarilly be from the same brand of scoot. Mounting points and length are what you're interested in.
Alternatively, you could just remove the center stand and fit a side stand. Neither of our scoots have center stands. I hate them. Even my GF prefers the side stand. Nothing blocking the kick start....
Think I paid about 25 eurodollars for mine.

If the mounting is too tight, that's a problem. If the 'U' is too big, you can shim it with washers and brains. I run a booster shock on my Ovetto (shorter) and I do exactly that. Never had an issue. And I sometimes go quite fast. For a scooter anyway......

Length of the shock shouldn't make any difference whatsoever. The stand is bolted to the bottom of the engine and is a fixed position.
Unless of course the shock is absolutely MAHOOSIVELY LONG, causing the back of the engine to tilt downwards way more than it should. Then when you ride it the arse of the scoot will be MAHOOSIVELY up in the air.

It gets better... here's the stand that I left overnight.

It works on steel too... the rust just fell off overnight. :D I've turned the stand over, to finish it off tonight. I've also dipped the engine mount and the top of the centre stand.

Once the parts are cleaned, I'll give them a quick rough up of the remaining paint patches with some glasspaper, then they are getting a coat of Zinc Cold Galvanising Paint, to help prevent rust in the future. Once that's fully dried it's a nice coat of black enamel - lovely.
