I've made some progress today with cleaning of the crankcases. I also split and drained the gearbox so that I can clean everything properly. I'm giving them a solvent wash with some orange terpene-based safety solvent at the moment and it smells really nice. I've got most of the oil and grime off, now it's on to a hot alkaline water wash, with some Blue Magic industrial cleaner added in - this should leave everything extremely clean. I'll dry off and WD-40 any parts that I'm worried about going rusty, then I'll get some U-Pol No.8 etch primer and some silver high temperature paint from Halfrauds.

The cases are stained and I want them to look the dog's danglies, so a refinish in silver it is. I also have some nice clear Engine Lacquer to finish off and this should protect the cases and also make them very easy to clean in future.

been doing alot of welding today. i now hate welding. on the upside, van is all solid now. got the spec lift body on. going to get it all plumbed up etc tommorrow. should be fun. then were going to have a crack at painting it ourselves. get my big flashy orange light on monday :D

got my LED`s for the scoot. the engine has gone off to be properly rebuilt at a place where they can machine my head/piston etc etc and get everything spot on so i get that extra little bit of oomph :D its coming along nicely :D

This bloody nrg is now beyond a joke!!!!
New crank bearings and seals in, still wont go properly. Can get it reasonable to just over half throttle then just wont have any more. Gone through every jet from 52 to 110, and 110 is too much. Though it might be the air filter sponge so took that out, made some difference but not much. Got me thinking now whether this 17.5mm carb is actually too big for the engine to cope with.
    I know i've got a 14mm dellorto........... somewhere.........

    AHA! Found it.:D
Gave it a clean, stuck a 50 main jet in, stuck it on the bike. Not even half throttle before it sounds wrong. More jetting tomorrow i suppose.
If this carries on i'll have to start a new thread;)

Trying to get it mate, if I can get a quote better than £150 that is, as that is more than the engine itself lol.

And I've searched everything, zip, fly, skipper, so on trying to see if any weights are stated but nope :(

Nice, just got delivered a few bits..

    6x4 number plate
    new oil filter
    new air filter
    new fuel line
    new brake levers

Although the plate has 2 chips and a couple of scratches, so not happy about that :(

Also can't seem to get the spring off my shock for shit, not sure if its even suppose to come off, I think it is as I've seen others with them painted white, orange and so on, which is why I am trying to get it off :(

Went for two massive rides this weekend. Both to get the go pro from a buddy. Finally got him at the beach called the 'Madrague'. Surfer. Anyway, had to push the scoot through the center of town (soooo many police cars.....) before lighting it up and caning it on one of the best roads for a two wheeler I have ever ridden on. It's the curves !
Got the go pro. Going to try and have a run tomorrow morning before the traffic (which plagued the run on the first video) gets too much. - link to the old video is here :

    Should be interesting !
