Well, when I went down thursday, I had problem finding the primer so asked a bloke, he told me they had a bunch of metal primers only, so been looking on the website and today and can only seem to find one, which is used for plastics.

I'm not great with all this paint crap, so figured I'd rather double check than buy something which ain't going to work out.

Went for a good long run on Sunday. Beautiful weather. Played tag with a 250 cafe racer. Scoot goes like a rocket.
Finished the MHR flowed case. Photos to follow.
Just re- routed the throttle cable on GF's scoot. It was a bit sticky. Much better now. How it got over on the right side I don't know....... Wasn't paying attention when I put the motor back on a couple of weeks ago probably..... doh!

Chopped bolts off holding the mudguard and tax disc on, there now off..

Removed front end of the loom so I could work easier, while removing the tape I found even more cuts in the loom(I've already had it repaired once..) going to try repair it the best I can with the tools I have, hopefully its good after..

Does anyone know if I could use a different loom? Can't find any for the 125 zip

Was thinking something along the lines of, skipper, typhoon, fly loom something of that sort as they all seem to have pretty much the same parts.

Changed the water in my system to coolant and changed the final drive lube. Still trying to get to bottom of electric start issues.

Bloody nrg engines on the bench now in bits:eek: , changed the fuel pump, no change, that was the last item in the list to be changed/checked before whipping the lump out and doing the crank seals and bearings. Actually turns out that it will be a good thing i have split the engine because i don't think the bearings would have lasted another month. Talk about loose and rattles, not good. Hoping now that it will sort the running issues out in the process.
On another completely different issue, i've got to have the fork tubes out and re-chromed on my 1100, bit pissed about that, changed the fork seals last year for the mot and one has gone already. Genuine Kwak parts as well so can't blame cheap parts, so i can only assume that the tubes chrome plating is wearing now. Going to be cheaper than buying new fork stantions though, and we got a few hard chrome platers here in Brumagen so i'm hoping it isn't going to be a big deal.
On the plus side, i get to ride the Zip to work for a few days instead:D

I took my TKR 2 crankcases to work to extract some broken studs and ended up re-drilling and tapping the holes, very therapeutic :) .

I now need to thoroughly clean and degrease the cases, figure out how I am going to blank off the air pump hole in the right-hand case, then replace the bearings, give the cases a nice coat of engine lacquer and start preparing for re-assembly. New seals are going in throughout the rebuild, for peace of mind.

Next on my to-do list is cleaning up the cylinder head, painting the cylinder barrel with black high-temperature paint and preparing the transmission cover for a re-paint.

    @ SteveP

See if you can get a plating shop to do the whole 3-stage copper-nickel-chrome process that Rolls Royce use for their brightwork. You never see pitted chrome on a Roller!
