Hmmmm, think i might put new cush drive rubbers in, not an mot fail but have a bit of slack in them; won't hurt anyway.

Just popped into the garage to finish off the rear transfer on the case for the MHR. Everything lines up nicely. If I can fix my paint stripper so it only goes on full blast, I might build it up - if I can get my photographer to be there I can finish the tuto on engine re- build.....
I want to see how it behaves with the full luxo-set up protocol!

Might have to get myself a 2 stroke once the zip is looking nice and I've had some good fun on it :)

One vx out the way, happy customer, one nrg out the way, another happy customer.
Another nrg in, very unhappy customer.
On the plus side, my 1100 went through the MOT with no advisories, ony done 2668 miles since last year, about average for me.
Had a look at the 2 carbs i ordered, Naraku Black Edition, ordered 2 17.5mm carbs but got sent 2 21mm instead.
Not a major problem, one for the zip and one for the katana.
Both have got manual chokes, although they are cable type manual chokes, can easy be changed for the button type, and they have 5mm threaded main jets so thats easy as well.
Decided to play with the zip, wasn't quite satisfied with the initial throttle response, seemed to take a couple of seconds to pick up properly so was going to re-jet it, but fitted one of the 21mm carbs to it instead.
Carb came with a 70 main jet as standard but changed that to a 72, don't ask me why, i just did. Nice snug fit into the manifold, new jubilee clip, sits nicely between the rear wheel and case, and i managed to keep the standard air box as well, which is a bonus.
Had to play with the throttle cable and fit a 90 degree elbow to the top of the carb, took a bit of cranking to get the bowl full of fuel, but off it went good as gold. Little tweaking with the idle screw and runs nicely. Throttle response is nice and crisp now, and the front wheel wants to come off the floor within the first 3 feet, gonna be interesting when its on the road. Took it a little spin in the cul de sac and it flies.

So the set-up now looks like this:

PM Tuning X Tech 70 kit
    Malossi multivar 2000
    Scooter Assassins Adjustable clutch
    PM Tuning Gear Up
21mm Naraku Performance Carb jetted to 72 main.
    Malossi Exhaust

Makes a change to do something to my stuff.

Good weather tomorrow. Going for a backroad thrash ! Possibly with a roller reduction of a few tenths of a gram. I reduced the jet from 102 to 100 and suddenly the transmission got heavier. This tells me we're making more horses. Good times!

Got my new(used) panels, front ready for paint, back needs some more sanding..

So for paint, going to get some gloss black paint from Halfords tomorrow, Could I get anyway with using poundland primer? I've used the poundland matt on my grey plastic, looks really nice and on top of that when ever they need touching up paint won't cost me anything at all. Was hoping to use the primer on the front and back then the halfords paint on top.

Best to stick with paint and primer from the same makers, just make sure the cans are warm, room temp or above for best coverage and application

Bloody bikes! Got the nrg in last night, checked it this morning, running like it is not getting enough fuel.
Standard NRG, 50cc, everything standard except the Leo TT pipe, running a 17.5 dellorto. Checked the main jet, 68, blew the carb out whilst its off, changed the intake manifold, showing cracks, changed the manifold gaskets, someone had used masking tape as a gasket:eek:, checked the reeds, fine. Still running like its not getting enough fuel at half throttle. Bitch to start, idle screw is all the way in and it still struggles to idle smoothly. swapped out the carb for a good one, no difference, swapped out the cdi, just in case, no difference.
    Standard airbox, new filter.
New piston and barrel on it.
Thinking crank seals need changing now. Good thing is that you dont need to split the engine to change them on these.

    Other opinions please

The problem there is, I was planning to buy the 500ml tins of paint from halfords, although I can't seem to find the same tins just in primer.
