if you drill a very small hole at the end of the crack it will help it not go any further.best clamped with a g cramp or similar to keep it dead firm and still while it hardens .could be over night but glues.rough up all the surfaces to get more grip.

thats a big bugger.............metal strip, 2 inches wide, 90% the length of the crack, drill 3mm holes through the metal strip along each side about 10mm in. place metal strip in place on inside of crack, drill through panel, on outside (painted) face of panel, countersink the holes deep enough to accommodate a rivet head whilst staying below the surface, rivet the strip in place, fill over, nice and strong, repaint.
OR..............go to ad ren alin pedstop and order the new body for £120 complete and painted.

had to 'make' new and variator spacers for one of the vx's, damn thing was dragging itself on tickover, gonna have to put another one in later though, its better, but not quite there.
Also ordered a polini manifold adapter for MY Katana, make it easier to manage the 19mm carb i put on, dont like the current angle on it and should still be able to keep the original airbox.

Jimbo, have you seen the second hand price of the zip panels lately? Freakin' horrendous.
For £120 you get the brand new complete panel set, ready painted. All you gotta do is screw the thing on and you got a new bike.
As for repairing that panel, it's a piece of p**s.
Done it on a zx6 front fairings last year after he had a spill at Mallory Park on a track day. Unless you looked inside you couldn't tell the difference.

This, trust me, I have done all research on new/used parts before asking things such as this, 9/10 used panels are all messed up anyway, and I could put say £10 into fixing the crack, and i'd have £110 spare.

Well still, I'd rather put £20 into fixing them myself, then £100 towards something else(maybe find why the exhaust is still smoking?)

    Le plastique, c'est fantastique!
Gf is half way through her running in and taking it very seriously. Amazing!
Put a new (old) kick on there as hers was about to fall off. She has no starter motor any more. Removed to make room for the overrange.
Fixed my brake light cable (which did fall off) and fixed my front panel bolt which stripped.
Looked at my plug and reduced the main jet from 102 to 100.
That's all for now. And more than enough after this weekend's strip/rebuild of GF's engine. It works well, but there will be transmission to do when she's run in.

    Idea?.,
took this from an old uber-budget sitch, make a good FIRM proper repair.tidy up+smooth down the outside, then nice large sticker (like a no. of your fav.rider),no one'd be the wiser.;).,
at very least,it will take the stress off of sorting out a new part, giving you time till the right one comes along.mk.
