mat does need a sort out.the wilco paint is enamel so your safe for reacting.but its gonna crack soon after cos its on a very flexible surface.what mark said,checker plate,anything would look better.

Just found this, could be a replacement for a rubber mat, although is a little pricey for a little bit of sheet metal

Surely you could buy/find some old scrap checkered sheet metal and cut to size

 

Was thinking the same thing, its £40 with delivery, sure I could find something for like half that price.

 

Try the scrappy if theres one local or get some of them cheapo boy racer car mats

 

normal industrial suppliers should do a bit cheep.may have a few off cuts .make a patern and they may be able to cut it too

I bought some PVC pipe cement(Think Steve recommended it?) anyway, I 'cemented' one of the cracks in the back panel, looked OK and stuck so thought i'd go eat dinner....go back to the garage and the thing has unstuck itself! Looks like I need a better cement I suppose, ideas?

 

Apparently it is cement so the tube says anyway, Looks like a trip to..I've no idea...but I need some new cement which isn't off eBay

 

For sure, a piece of ali plate 60x30cm is only around £5(that is online too so most likely cheaper in store) and it shouldn't be much bigger/wider than that

 

araldite.found that glues like shit to a blanket.even better with a support behind too,like mark said .

Also, I think I understand what you guys mean by adding the support, basically just a piece which covers the crack on the inside of the panel?
