uh huh, thats a bit low me thinks. Time for a new piston and barrel going by that reading. May as well do the upgrade while you've got to spend on it. 70cc kit time (if it isn't/wasn't already)

Why not just replace the piston ring, hone the cylinder a bit and use a dabble of sealant on the round gasket when you put it back together ? I bet that would get the compression back up. It might not be the kit at all. Maybe just the ring seal on the head. If you don't use a dabble of sealant they tend to move in the groove with the varying pressure and then they destroy themselves. Standard Nitro heads are renowned for doing this - but all repton seals do it if they are not 'glued' into the head with sealant. Use sealant ! Just a thin film does it.

If I have learned one thing in all my dealings with two strokes - it's that absolute air-tightness is the frikkin' key to the whole business !:p

Chreesmus - I just came out of the garage after a marathon dremel/sandpaper session to transform an engine case for a pro race into an engine case for a Malossi MHR Team 2.
If you ever see someone with a Malossi Team 2, give him /her some respect. Because everything about it is about 5mm too big to actually fit in a minarelli. Skirt, transfers; The rear transfer is effing huge. In fact, when it opens into the barrel; there are three.
If you took a stock case and milled it for an MHR, you would have about a kilo of the stuff.
    Blimey.....

Was thinking more along the lines of an old school stylee,Scootz.;).,
not for myself, too stuck in my way's me,but-
    possibly a younger generation,more into computerised gizmo's /instead of a more physical/mechanical nature.,
One thing i've noticed on this forum, that there's a few gifted people, almost to the point of having a very rare, natural gift-
It'd be a crying shame for it not to passed on,by say not taking on an understudy of sorts.mk.;) .
