right, just washed the scooter, had it running just before, just gone to go out and didnt get very far... Started loosing power and then it just cut out on me. I've drained the carb (thought there might have been water in the float bowl), no water there, checked the plug cap, all dry. For some reason there's no fuel getting to the spark plug, its bone dry, nothing comes out even with the plug out. There's fuel getting to the carb but not to the engine itself, im abit confused why...

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Obviously the exhaust needs fixing, but should it be doing that?

Just bought a Giannelli exhaust for around £80 discount! Couldn't be happier, saved money I really didn't have spare to waste on an exhaust :)

After careful inspection, the motor is back on the scoot without having changed the crank. There is no discernable play at the big end. I changed the admission stack for one which holds the carb at a more conventional angle. I'm hoping this will cure the 'it won't pootle' symptom - which I suspect is down to the bowl level - but I'm not sure - and hoping that it won't have lost any of the 'full bore insane' performance. If it's not as good, the old pipe is going back on and sod the sensible riding. We shall see.

still not getting a wet plug, could it be anything to do with the float valve?

Just started the scoot after the replacement of the admission stack. It works - in fact - it burns the floor..... and the good news is the return to tickover and general behavior leads me to believe that I may have solved the 'all or nothing' character that the previous (home made/ home flowed) pipe had - with it's 50° carb angle. But it's also true that the incredible reaction-time has suffered a tiny bit. I haven't actually ridden it - so I can't tell. It's just an impression. We shall have a play with the air screw tomorrow and see. If it's lost any actual grunt - the home made pipe is going back on.
Or, I may have to quiksteel the new admission plate to give it a venturi - and have the best of both worlds..... Venuri in the pipe - but with a 30° angle..... hmmmm

Just went out on my ped after replacing the exhaust, slight smell(I've no idea of what) but can smell some sort of fumes, I am guessing this is normal for a newly fitted exhaust?

Just put the liquid back in the scoot. There is no doubt, it's lost a bit of the reaction time. But everything else is better. Still have not taken it for a spin. I worked all day and then came home, had a drink or two. So no mucking about. But it seems to splutter less at 1/4 throttle and the full bore feels just as violent. Test tomorrow, and if it does not satisfy, we put the home made pipe back on and to hell with 1/4 throttle.
Run is delayed till sunday so I have some time......

    I like it !
If you keep going with the sanding up to 2000 grade and then buff it with a cotton wheel, you'll be able to shave with it.......
Paint is so naff on alu -
