really starting to hate freezing cold mornings, went to warm the bike up by revving it, and the throttle cable stuck itself on, i even poured hot water over the carb before i started it. So i had to leave it, just got home and checked it, and it's absolutely fine, even revs perfectly from as soon as you start it up, annoying!

i did let it tick-over for a couple of minutes, but it cut out. Just done abit of searching and it sounds like the problem is 'carb icing'

i remember when my throttle cable stuck. it was with the pro race 70. cc with all the trimmings on a long straight with a T junction at the end of it. full tilt boogie. I nearly shit myself. Must have been doing 'too fast' mph. I had the presence of mind to flip the key. Then i got a tube of axle grease and got it sorted....

Can't really get much access to the lug with the shroud in place for bracing, line of thought though!

The donor, being stripped once it's down to engine and frame I'll get the frame to the straighteners and get it stoved, for now it's just donating spares, contributed rear shocks, coils, rad shroud, several nuts and bolts, switchgear internals, bits I've forgotten about..

If you look really carefully in picture above you can seen the remnants of the first set-screw as a rusty blob just under the rad in this picture. Once I got the shroud off I left in there for another day! Might see if I can weld to it and get it out that way.

I see it. there are bolts you can get which are chrome plated and flatly refuse to corrode. is it m6?

Not a good day today. the filth were waiting for me in suburbia. too noisy. silencer is past it's best. i have five days to present my scoot for inspection. Some technobabble and politeness bought me some time. I have been waiting for this to happen and I have the bits - so this weekend It's going from
    Stage 6 sport pro 70, yas R
    to
Aerox 50 cc stock, ovetto stock exhaust with effing catalyser
this is going to be quite amusing. pics to follow.

Good job they didn't stop me with the malossi team2/yasuni carrera 30. then again, i might not have stopped!

The piston, cylinder and exhaust will all be stock. It will be quieter than a kitten. i just hope i don't run into any of the locals when I'm on my way over there. I'll be a laughing stock.

Done. this is the first time I have seen a normal exhaust on my scoot in about 7 years....... Bizarre.
Anyway- sealant is drying. Start up tomorow & liquid- then carb and a visit to the boys in blue.
Then stage 6 YasR back on in about five minutes!
What a pain in the the arse.

Just came back from town. Cop shop is closed 'till monday so it's monday morning for the inspection. Scoot runs fine - a bit rich. Need to go down to 100 on the main jet. Some insulation foam in the bucket under the seat and it will be the quietest thing on two wheels.
    Config is:
    Aerox stock cylinder
Doppler reinforced crank 12 mm little end - so...
    Piaggio typhoon piston
    stock ovetto exhaust with catalyser
    Frontal admission (oops)
    malossi VL14 reed box (oops)
    Oko 21 mm carb(oops)
    Stock airbox under the seat
    MVT Digital direct ignition(oops)
    Malossi Overrange pack (oops)
    Gear up kit(oops)
    polini G2 clutch (oops).
Top speed is a blistering 80 kph. Not too bad for a stock catalysed exhaust !
I'll take some photos tomorrow because it's so bizarre.
fortunately they are only concerned with noise.....

Just dressed the Typhoon for it's maiden run to the garage to get it'd papers and it's oil pump belt replaced. I can't find the damn screw to get it off and I'm not pissing about at this stage. Looks nice !
Just went from 102 to 98 on the jet for my Ovetto. Test tomorrow. Some more 'quiet' tech and some aesthetic 'normalisation' this weekend....
G.F. very happy with her Ovetto/Stage 6 sport pro etc. She got bored with a T Max on the way home tonight and overtook it uphill after he tried to razz her off - no comment.......

Just rode the Tyffie back from Yoda's. New belt on the oil pump. Rollers are way to heavy, but when you eventually get to 70 kph it starts to go properly - which bodes well for the set up. If it will do 80 like that, it will get there pretty fast once it's set up right. Fully stock. They don't make 'em like they used to..... Gonna deal with that this afternoon.
And I have the certificate which means I can register it ! Yay !

So did you come flying off your ped? Any damage to yourself or scooter apart from the scratched bodywork?
