Stuck

I recently blew up my speedfight 2 bore kit and when it happen 2 bits cracked off the piston and obvisiouly ended up in the crank case ... now i have taken the engine out and theres no sign of these 2 parts? i flushed it through with some petrol do i take it that they have ground down to tiny bits ..?


i dont want to put my new cylinder kit on if theres a risk it could damage it ?

you have to consider what sized particle, it takes to scratch a bore, basically minute.

I am no expert, and there are some experts here who will comment......... if it was me I would be splitting the cases and changing all the bearings, as my fear would be either the ground up residue is clinging to the bearings, which will knock them out in no time, or the residue surfacing and scratching the bore. My method would include basically a surgical clean of all the parts.

If it comes to my advice, how many k have the bearings and crank done anyway? If they are orginal, you get a bottom end to match the top.

Why did the big bore kit let go, was you over-revving it at the time?

to do the job properly, i would go with Guns advice, its a bit of a pain i know, but if a piece of old piston resurfaces youull be stripping the engine again and forking out for another kit....
