    Sorry to hear what happened.

The day it happened you should of went to the police station, they would of contacted eBay and if his address, name, bank wernt real it would of been classed as fraud. eBay would of then gave the police his loggin in time, date and IP. Which could of been tracked through the ISP. Even if he was at a cafe they have cctv cams.

Good to see the real user of that account contacted you though, better late then never.

You should give Crime stoppers (bbc prog) a call, with it being close to crimbo they would love a internet sale to investigate so they can tell people to be carful this time of year. Chances are you will get the person very soon.

Awhile ago, i sold something that wasn't ebay related but was using paypal as a payment, sold the goods to the guy after i received payment then a day later he reversed the paypal charges and canceled his account.

I lost out on goods & money, paypal can't do anything if the user removes there debit/credit card from the account after closing.

Only way he could have canceled his account was when there was no dispute going on otherwise the cancellation would have been denied.

Also, you need proof obviously that either :

He came and signed for the bike which isn't any good anybody can use somebody elses address.
    Drivers license photocopy

If he 'bought now' on ebay i think you are covered up to a certain amount of money through paypal but not 100% sure.

Sorry to hear that this happened it sucks big time.
