My moped cranks ok, but won't start off the button, starts with kickstart straight away. Any ideas what could cause this? Thanks.
So it's not the battery if it cranks. That's very strange as they are essentially doing the same thing by turning the engine over. I'd start by replacing the kill switch or starter button.
Some scoots do that, most annoying. Move the clip on the carb slide needle down so it lifts the needle out of the jet slightly, allows more fuel to come through for the initial start up. Failing that you might have a slight blockage in the pilot jet.
Thanks. Although kill switch and starter buttons work. Starter button works in terms of engaging the starter motor.
I've done that already to make it faster apparently. But its a cheap Chinese carb although new its difficult to set for idling: when it idles slightly too high a smitch turn of a screw will make it die. I'll be looking to change that in near future. Thanks.
