its a waste of time tp put a open air filter on a sport there is not enuf revs to need one

my sport runs mint with an open filter on 21mm carb.92 jet in it. responsive and revvy too and not bad on fuel

I'm running a similar setup, it sounds like your carb is seriously underjetted as soon as it warms up it is running very weak and hot. My bike would run with the standard 12mm carb only with a 70 main jet and the standard airbox, you will definitely do damage running without an airbox and unfiltered.
I now run it with a 17.5 dellorto and I think it is either an 82 or 84 main jet, I've kept the standard airbox with a mallosi filter but had to remove the snorkel as it coukdn't get enough air through the restricted opening.
The scoot now bites your head off and pulls 70.
Have a look at the pedparts site and you will find that the 21mm carb is probably overkill with no extra gain exept bigger fuel bills on a streetrace. Fit with either a 17.5 or a 19mm with a standard airbox (maybe remove snorkel)
you'll be grinning like an idiot.
When you fitted the kit did you bleed the cooling system by slackening the small bleed valve on top of the cylinder head to let the air out, cos if you don;t it will trap air and may cause a hot spot.

Most of all don't loose patience a little bit of fiddling and it will run sweet and fast.

Cheers mate it makes a lot of sence. I can get either a 17.5 carb or 20.5, It seems to be the 17.5 would be better from a lot of people so ill try that! Its just annoying as i need it for college lol The bike make me smiles for the first 5 mins as its insane of the line lol. when i get the carb ill messege you if you like and we wil lgo from there! cheers for the help!

If its the standard variator then buy a decent one, that's the problem. If not, try new rollers, and a stiffer contra spring in the clutch ;)

It seems to be fine after 30? and had all difo jets in today the one im running seems to be ok? Im running a polini variator with 4.4g rollers and the big blue contrast springs with yellow springs they seem to be ok like i say after 30 but when hitting 30 there just like no boost lol like if it was a restricted bike or somthing, proper annoying me, If i cant fix it tomoz Im going to just return it back to a 50 lol

right so the bike now pulls slow to 30 then revs up after?

have ou tried the stock airfilter and jetted again? if the bike is slow on launch you may need stiffer springs on the clutch. on my old aerox 100 i fited the stiffest mallosi did to get the revs up on launch.

the clutch only matters for the first few seconds anyway then the variator kicks in. so if the bikes sluggish for a while maybe lighter rollers are needed to get the bike into its power band quicker.

its all a case of trial and error

it's got 4 gram rollers in at the moment and once it hits 30 it revs like **** so i doubt it wants lighter rollers in. i think it's something to do with the jetting :/
