rub it back with 240 wet & dry to give a key for the paint to bond to. Make sure its spotless as any imperfections will show in the finished item.
Several coats of primer when its nice and warm outside (not windy and dont be tempted to give it loads) better off with lots of thinish coats than one or two heavies making it run. If it does run, flat them out when dry with 400 W&Dry.

When its totally dry and nice and smooth, give it three or fourcoats of colour...sorted

yerp. normall spraying will just peel off and when you kickstart, bang, ripped half of it off.

    My white hammerite lasted well

Yea primer is not the best idea for engine cases as they tend to get hot. Hammerite is a very durable, hard wearing paint and if you get the 'SMOOTH' one it does give a nice finish. but dont spill petrol on it, it will just melt. lloooooooooll. the best option is to give it a lightish sand with 400-600 on the original surface, then get 'very hii temp paint' use thet str8 on and get VHT laquer.
this will give you a beautiful finish. i have now settled for this option on my engine case and water cooler case as it is proven the siplest and most durable. i

erm, how about its fucking annoying (and in the t&c) its just a pain to remove from general use/coding and still be there for the admin to use...

theres fuck all reason for diff colour/size writing.
