well I know my choke works! absolutley baltic and gail force winds and the bike started had to fiddle with mixture abit before it turned over! going to have to sort it our properly tomorrow!
Ok I've noticed I keep having to adjusst the mixture for the scoot to start so obviously I aint got it set up right will the jet size have something to do with this? It worked fine for the first day started first time but now I'm having to wind the mixture screw all the way in and sometimes the idle and wind them out til it starts!
It's been stood out there in the snow and cold for over a day and night now went to start it and started up fine no fiddling so all seems well! cheers
good mate , and what is the clip on the needle slide set at ? should be in the middle , also have you checked what color the spark plug electrode is after a good run
needle is at middle! check sat morning was biscuit color! mixture has been fiddled with since so will have to check! I took it for a run just before I think I need to change the jet back to 98 and play with the mixture as it ran sound but took abit fiddling to start it, It does not seem as good as it could be with the current jet size
carbs can be a nightmare to set up pal , but you are not that far off now as it runs when you get it going , if its a biscuit white color you are running lean and needs to be upjetted , takes the piss trying to set them up with a open air filter ! you need to be looking at a chocolate brown color on the plug then you no you are more or less bang on
put a 98 jet in which i had in and ran well have not had to change mixture much to start it this was the plug color; going to take it for a run out after my scran, I'm still stuck with problem of pulling away on full revs it takes it a few seconds to pick up still done this with all jets I've tried could this b e something other than carb trouble
ha well it runs fine ish now but i took it for a run out and I've blown the fuse next to battery whilst I had it out I stopped half way on my ride to turn my tick over up abit and it did not really turn up much then I got home knocked to ignition off went to start it again with the kick start and it was kicking back but started I went to use elec start and nothing happened this is where i found the fuse had blown any ideas ta
cant really tell you without riding it my self , maybe you could do a video , want to hear what she sounds like with that carb and filter on anyway
Belt and rollers are next on my list be a few weeks tils I have the money spare! kevlar belt and might just keep standard rollers will have a look at clutch too
top man , id only go lighter on the rollers if i had a sports pipe fitted tbh , and yeah a kevlar belt is always good , may seem abit sluggish at first but once the belt is worn in you should be away
mate it does not sound to bad half revs then you go full revs its loud as! ill see about a video for pulling away its hard to explain the sound!
yeah , love the sound of a loud throaty 2 stroke weather it's a scooter or a bike , my rs is loud as balls think i need to repack my silencers when iv put the engine back together , as for the pulling away it sounds like your rollers might need replacing , as it's a learner bike they more than likely haven't been changed in a while lol
